"Excellent clean, well maintained property with friendly owners nearby. Nice and warm with comfy beds and en suite facilities for both bedrooms. If you want to be alone and undisturbed by passing traffic, this is the place. The upstairs bedroom looks out over fields where a pair of Buzzards sit on a fence less than 100 yards away. The lounge /dining /kitchen area is well equipped, spacious and has a large TV with DVD player and a good few DVDs. Across the access road is a field where lives 'Millie', a Thelwell type miniature pony who is 23 years old and likes carrots. (if you don't bring some she hangs her head and sulks like Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh.) The owners farm is also home to two lovely friendly small Labradors (one with one eye), who come and look through the entrance door, but are NOT a nuisance. The place is a little far from any shops so bring plenty of supplies with you or get them when you go out for the day. We visited the cinema at Tamworth, The National Memorial Arboretum (marvellous), and Lichfield Cathedral (well worth a visit and a good way to spend an hour or two out of the bad weather. So much to see in there.)The only minor downside we found was that there wasn't any WiFi, and the mobile phone signal was poor. But hey you're on a break, don't worry about it. Enjoy."

"One of the few premises I have been in where the photographs on-line don't do justice to the size of this property. Bright, comfortable and well fitted, and impressive interior design. The hamper provided was also very good.Staff on the estate were friendly, helpful and cheerful. Food in the restaurant was very good, and the cafe was very pleasantLoss of a star for the following issues. We rarely felt warm in the bathroom, and adjustment of the temperature was too complex for this technophobe. Also, as the shower has an open end, it ***** in cold air, so it wasn't a comfortable experience. First use of it, on full, resulted in flooding part of the bathroom. It therefore wasn't possible to have it on full.I felt the heavy shutter screen provided to give some privacy across the front door, could be considered a hazard in the event of attempting to escape a fire. Wouldn't vertical blinds be better? They can also be drawn across. One of the exterior lights, at the bathroom end, is low and I banged my head on it. The two either side of the front door are higher, so why not this one? Finally, the A5 road is alongside, and although it did not affect our sleep I can see that in summer, sat on the terrace the noise could intrude."

"This property is a kind of barn conversion located in a quiet, remote spot some way down a farm track, the nearest village being roughly a mile and a half or so away. The village in question, Abbots Bromley, is quite nice with a number of hostelries though as far as we could see, just one general store. For larger stores, the visitor has to make a journey to Rugeley or Uttoxeter. NB Our reason for choosing S16041 in the first inst was because it was reasonably close to Lichfield where we wanted to see a number of historical attractions. Unfortunately the remoteness of the Carthouse is possibly responsible for the very poor phone reception and the complete absence of WIFI connectivity, hence we had to travel some distance to pick up emails. The owners of the property are very pleasant, friendly and unobtrusive and their two dogs equally friendly. Concerning the property itself, whilst the furniture was quite comfortable, we found the cupboards to be located quite high on the wall, which for those of us who are smaller than average height, difficult to reach. We also found the pillows in the bedroom to be rather uncomfortable."

"We had a fantastic holiday in S16041 - really relaxing and welcoming. There were the two of us and our 2 year old and 6 year old and they had a great time too. The place is comfortable and feels well looked after. The kids loved playing with Holly and Meg (the dogs), as well as admiring the ponies and cows in nearby fields. I loved playing with the Pizza oven. I never quite got it right, but I think that's down to practice more than anything. They definitely tasted better than the frozen ones! There's loads of things to do in the area that aren't too far away. We would definitely recommend the National Memorial Arboretum (surprisingly great for young children) which was about 20 minutes drive. We're National Trust members, so we spent a lot of time visiting those properties, and there's plenty to chose from. There's no Wi-Fi and very patchy mobile signal, which is great for feeling disconnected from the world, but did cause a slight hiccup when we couldn't check that somewhere was open (it was closed cause of high winds!) so we nearly had a wasted journey. The DVD player was also rather complicated to figure out!"

"When arriving at the cottage (which thanks to the direction given it was easy to find) We was greeted by the owner who showed us around the cottage. This was perfect little cottage that we was looking for and all the added extra that we found really help. (e.g useful to have oven gloves, washing up liquid and other bits and bobs -this are all easy to forget). The cottage was in a lovely little village. We got no signal on the phone. The only way we found some was going up the top of very high hill or driving few miles out of the village. this was perfect for us. and an added bonus was that our satnav/gps still worked. The village and local arrives have some really lovely walks and chance to explore the local area. We would really recommend the heights of abraham. it can be a little expensive to get in but the cable cart ride and the cave tours make up for this. We would highly recommend this cottage to our friends. We had fantastic stay. Thanks"
