"The hosts provide a complete "Welcome Pack and litany of information relevant to local community activities, visitor sites, and restaurants" and are very accommodating. The cottage provides the amenities to provide a "home away from home" lifestyle and experience. The bed is the one of the best beds we experienced staying in over 10 accommodation places over past 6 weeks' business trip. The site photo does not do the property/cottage justice. It does not represent the true cosiness and size of the actual property easily accommodating a family. The only amenity not provided was a hair dryer, but the cottage provides a washing machine, a beautiful patio, a cozy wood burning stove, and a pleasurable home lifestyle of living in a home away from home.Would highly recommend. Its important to note that cottage has stairs for anyone who may struggle climbing stairs."

"An excellent setting for our short half term break. We wanted a quite area within a short driving distace from chidren activities (13 & 11, which are not easy to please!) and dog walks within the Peak District, and this place ticked the box for everything. We were fortunate that no livestock was around at the time of our visit, so the dog could run freely all over the surounding fields. These are fully fenced (for the livesock) which was extremely helpful for our adventurous puppy. In any case, there are lots of fields around where the dog can easily enjoy its time!As the evenings came, it was time to relax and play few board games (we brought these from home) and to watch a movie from the selection in the cottage. All very good recent movies, to suit all tastes.A really nice holidays, that everyone in the family enjoyed!"

"This is a wonderful, cosy but spacious cottage. The owner provided everything we needed including milk, tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival which was a lovely touch. It was spotlessly clean. The views from the living area are amazing and it was a pleasure to open the blinds in the morning. The bedrooms and bathroom were extremely spacious with loads of storage and a TV in every room which was useful at night time. It's location is excellent. You are less than an hour's drive from many Peak District attractions and only 10 minutes to Leek for supermarkets, takeaways etc. Alton Towers is also a only a short drive away - suprising as the cottage is situated in such a peaceful and quiet location. Would we return? Yes definitely!"

"This little cottage was absolutely perfect. Loved the layout and the size. Was just right for a couple. Loved the four poster bed and the original beams. Nice hot shower! The Wi-Fi came in very handy as there was no phone reception away from the road so we were able to look up places to explore quite easily. The owner was very friendly and so helpful and even let us have a lie in on our final day as nobody was due in that afternoon. Location was great as it was nice and quiet, almost nobody around, but Leek was only 10 minutes down the road and Buxton, The Roaches, Thor's Cave and Matlock were all easily accessible in a short amount of time. I would highly recommend this place. 10/10 all round."

"Nice cottage in a good location for Alton Towers and the southern Peak District. Plenty to see and do with walks and cycles on the doorstep. The cottage was very comfortable, well furnished and equipped. However, having wifi would make this even better as there is no phone signal at all anywhere in the village of Hulme End. This really should be advertised in the advert for the cottage. (We needed to be in contact with a hospital for our daughter)There was also a problem with flies. Every evening there seemed to be dozens of them hanging around the open plan kitchen and living room. Apart from this a nice stay in one of the warmest October on record. "
