"Having stayed at Beaufort Estate previously (Daisy Cottage & The Larder), we knew the cottage would be of good comfort & standard and Kennels Cottage did not disappoint. The cottage was clean, warm, spacious and had everything you need for a self catering holiday. The views from the lounge & kitchen across the fields and in to the distance were lovely. However, from a personal point of view, we were disappointed with the shower which has been badly designed/laid out. Between the shower hose stretching across to the holder and shower curtain edging in to the shower, it left no room to shower freely without 1 of the 2 (or both) being in your way or stuck to you. Also, the shower hose had a hole in it somewhere and the water pressure was low due to this. We stayed there for Christmas and on a cold winters morning, it would have been nice to have a warm comfortable shower to set you up for the day but unfortunately, this was not the case.On another note, the main bedroom would really benefit from having a wardrobe.Having said this, it would not put us off staying at Beaufort Estate again as it is a beautiful place with a very good location to visit the surrounding areas and attractions."

"This is a beautiful cottage with a warm welcome. You are greeted with a hamper of bread, milk, biscuits, wine and homemade jam.Lots of attention has been given to make the cottage feel like home. A spacious cottage suitable for a family of 4 with a couple of dogs. With a large and secure rear garden there is ample of room for children and dogs to run around. The kitchen is well equipped, plenty of cupboard space and lots of surface. Living room is a good size with a wood burner. If you don't want the wood burning lit then there are radiators that can be used to take away the chill. Bathroom is a good size with a shower over the bath. Both bedrooms have ample space for moving around. There is a wonderful quirkiness with the old floor boards not being quite level. Off road parking is an added bonus. The cottage is within walking distance of Drumnadrochit. Great pubs, cafes and restaurants. It is advisable to pre-book in the restaurants, even out of season they are soon booked up. The location is great for walks, activities and sightseeing. So much to do and see on your door step.I would certainly stay here again."

"My wife, me together with my two daughters (10,14) stayed for a week at Patterson Cottage. Our host Catherine was really nice, she gave good advice at what we want possibly to see as this was our first stay in the Highlands. The Cottage was really nice, just right for 4 persons, clean, well equipped - had everything you possibly could wish for. After our long daily trips (the highlands are quite big and as this was our first visit, we wanted to see as much as possible) it was nice to come back to such a nice cottage. The location is very good for a stay of a week, plenty to do there - though the drives to the location may take a little longer (we drove up to 1 1/2 hours), but some of the attractions we visited were nearby. We visited Eilean Donan Castle, Glen Licht, Glen Affric, Loch Ness, Dunrobin Castle, Cawdor Castle, Culloden Battlefield, Ullapool, Inverness, and some waterfalls and gorges - in an easily drivable distance there a the Glenmorangie and Dalmore distilleries (if you are into whiskey). As you can see more than enough to do for a week.So I cleary would recommend a stay at the Patterson cottage."

"We had a problem finding the cottage as the sign on the wall outside says "Kilcoy House" and this information isn't given in the directions. It is only when you take the turning for Kilcoy House (out of desperation because there is nowhere else to go) that you see the sign for Patterson Cottage on the right. When we phoned the owner for directions he didn't point this out to us either !The cottage itself, is nicely appointed, with good quality furnishings and bed linens. There are a few little touches it needs though. There is no where to put the shampoo and shower gel so you have to put it on the shower floor all the time. There are no loo roll holders on the wall. There is no bread bin and it would be nice to have a few board games. There was wood for the fire but we couldn't find any paper or kindling to set the fire with.Little things, I know, but they make a difference."

"This is one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in. Really well-equipped with good quality things - everything thought of. It makes such a difference to have decent equipment to use and not just the cheapest that could be found as is so often the case.Very friendly welcome from the owner who lives next door. She was always available but also perfectly discreet. The cottage is just outside Drumnadrochit which is nice but a bit touristy for us. It is close enough to be able to walk in to go for a meal and not have to worry about having a driver. Note that the pubs all get booked up though and we couldn't get in on our first night so worth booking ahead perhaps. The Fiddlers was excellent when we booked for later in the week."
