Holiday Cottages in St Ives

For the quintessential family holiday, choose from one of our extensive range of St Ives Cottages. This charming part of Cornwall has been hosting visitors for years, attracted to the area by its astonishing natural beauty. A particularly warm part of the UK, St Ives has got more than a whiff of the tropics about it, with palm trees fringing the beaches and supremely lush vegetation adding to the effect. On top of that, there are some first-class beaches to be found, with the temperate waters attracting playful dolphins, magnificent basking sharks (don’t worry, they’re vegetarians!), and seals who like to bask on the rocks.

However, our St Ives Cottages aren’t just for families; St Ives, with its rustic charm, makes an ideal holiday destination for couples who want to spend some quality time together. In addition to some superb attractions, St Ives has some excellent restaurants. If you’ve eaten more than your fair share of Cornish pasties, you’ll find some outstanding eateries that serve fresh fish or local meats and vegetables. You’ll even find some fine-dining establishments, perfect for a special night out.

What are the best attractions in St Ives?

If you’ve booked one of our holiday cottages in St Ives for the whole family, you’ll find yourselves just a short trip from some of Cornwall’s best attractions. You’ve got the world-famous Eden Project virtually down the road, Paradise Park wildlife sanctuary in nearby Hayle, and the Flambards Experience theme park, packed with rides, exhibits and things to see and do, in Helston. For a bit of old-school holidaymaking, St Ives Harbour Beach is just on your doorstep. Older children might like to take a trip to Porthmeor Beach, which is something of a Mecca for those who enjoy water sports, with everything from kayaking to surfing on offer.

Couples using our holiday cottages in St Ives as a base from which to explore the romantic side of Cornwall will be equally spoilt for choice. The Tate St Ives puts your finger on the pulse of the local art scene, while the Barbara Hepworth Museum showcases some amazing sculptures. The Minack Theatre is a supremely romantic setting in which to watch a play, and you can dip into Cornwall’s magical past with a visit to the standing stones of Men-an-Tol.

"The annex was in the main clean although the conservatory (the lounge area) is in need of a good clean outside, very green in places. We found this a lovely area to relax in with very comfortable sofas, however being a conservatory it would probably be too hot to sit in during a mid summer day. The kitchen had everything we needed and was clean, sadly unlike every other West Country cottage we have stayed in, there was no cream tea to welcome us which was a shame. We found the beds uncomfortable and the Velux blinds which were the only source of light into the bedrooms, very difficult to open and shut so we opted to keep them closed and use the electric lights. Showers proved to be the spoiler for us. Firstly we had difficulties with the boiler not heating water but eventually found we had to turn on the hot taps in advance and let them run for ages before the heat would kick in. Then once in the shower it had to be a quick wash and out barely giving time to wash your hair before it flooded the washroom floor as the drainage is inadequate and acted more like a slow soak away. Oh and the washroom light bulb blew too with no replacements in the drawers. The garden was tired and needed attention. If you have a small dog that is prone to finding escape routes beware of the gap under the gate. All said and done we spent very little time in the property and there were not issues we could not get over so it did not spoil our holiday, we just felt we have stayed in better cottages that have been cheaper. So we would not return to the Annex."

"The penthouse was a very nice property and well presented. The location made it easy to visit all the local attractions including beaches and coves. The train link is a few minutes walk away and very convenient for those wishing to visit St Ives for the day/evening allowing you to drink and not drive. The journey being 3/4 minutes each way and the cost more than reasonable at £5.20 return for 4 adults. My only criticisms of the property is that the shower facilities are not good for a party of adults,as you need to use the master bedroom shower.Parking is also limited resulting in one of the two cars being blocked by the other and although we managed if you travel separately it will cause a problem. The views from the balcony of the bay are also becoming restricted by the conifers. However, this is a very nice property and I would recommend it to others."

"Cornwall itself is a fantastic place to visit and one could spend a good few weeks exploring the county. Hayle is an ideal central location as a base to tour Cornwall.S21324, for the price, is not really up to standard. There were a number of maintenance issues which would have been so easy to address but had not been. I can't imagine that we were the first group to point out that the conservatory leaks when it rains. The furniture is old and rickety, the kitchen had a broken cupboard door, the upstairs family bathroom window is off balance and therefore would not stay open. Unfortunately the house, although charging higher rate, had been kitted out on the cheap.Although tired and in need of some TCL the beds were comfortable, the downstairs power shower was good and the kitchen was well equipped"

"Graceland was well presented, clean and was done to a really high standard we had a great time. The holiday park where located was tired and needed updating the swimming pool was good and was welcome we didn't use the clubhouse and didn't understand actually what the leisure pass was for so were glad we didn't pay anything for it. We did struggle with somewhere to dry towels as being in the woods covered by trees you never got any sun and towels stayed damp most the week. Overall it was a lovely place for the 3 of us but would benefit from the holiday park being updated."

"Stones End is a exceptional holiday home. The house was immaculate with everything you could need and all to the best quality and the garden and surrounding view was stunning. The games room was fantastic. We have stayed in many holiday cottages before but this was by far the best. The attention to detail of the house from the comfy beds and bed sheets to the modern and stylish bathrooms. During the day it was light with views from nearly every window of the surrounding countryside and at night it was peaceful and cosy.We will be returning."
