"The location is brilliant if you want to be a short drive from a lot of beaches in Cornwall and Bude. Very short drive down to the beach at Crackington Haven.Property has a lot of charm. In the lounge there is a slight musty smell, but that is too be expected of a property of this age in the damp weather we had experienced. The whole property could do with a lot of TLC and a deep clean. Unfortunately we found quite a lot of dog hair, windows and general cleanliness was pretty grubby. The kitchen was more than ample and modern. If anything it has too much equipment in the cupboards. There was no where to actually store food. A lot of the utensils etc.... had seen better days. For example there were more there was a draw full of knives, of which the bread knife was rusty and the others were blunt. I think they could do with throwing out some of the old stuff and keeping a smaller selection of the best items. The oven inside was dirty and hadn't been cleaned. The appliances were all modern and in good working order. Advantage is it had a washing machine and a tumble dryer in a utility room and two bathrooms. The TV seem to work ok, but whenever we had bad weather we lost the signal. We had no phone signal, but was extremely handy to have a good broadband wifi connection. There were no logs for the fire, which it states on the property description. At the end of the week we discovered a brilliant outside public play area behind he village hall directly across the road."

"Three generations of our family stayed here for a half term break and it was fabulous. The house looks like a little grey bungalow from the front but inside is a light filled airy and spacious house filled with quality touches. The balcony is great with lovely sea views which can also be seen from the lounge area. There were 5 bedrooms which was one more than we were expecting! There was an extra room with bunk beds and a single bed and a bookcase full of children's books. The toys inside the coffee table were a nice touch and much appreciated by our little ones. The bathrooms were beautiful and spotless and the bed linen was lovely quality. Loved the American style fridge too! The only tiny downside for us was that all the oak internal doors as lovely as they were had gaps between the planks which meant there was no soundproofing at all really when the children are in bed and the house is quite echoey. That probably wouldn't be an issue for most guests though and was fairly minor, just something to bear in mind if staying with babies/toddlers.Overall it was a lovely stay in a gorgeous property and we all said we would like to stay again even though we already live in Cornwall!"

"A very nice cottage in a lovely position. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay there. The pro of the beautiful location is countered by the con of few local amenities as you would expect. There is a pub, The Wellington Arms, but it is a car journey to get there and there are no local shops- the closest we found were in Launceston or Camelford. There is a petrol station on the main road ( a car journey ) that may sell milk etc but we didn't investigate it. Would recommend a stay there but thought it would be helpful to give a heads up about what you could expect to find locally. It is located on a beautiful stretch of coastline and there are plenty of places to visit. It is approximately one and a half hours drive to the St Ives/St Just area. If you are taking a dog, note that your outside allocated area is not fenced off and so your dog would be able to run free ( there are chickens loose!) If you have a well behaved dog that stays close then that is fine; if not be aware! The land lady is on site which is helpful and she has two very hospitable dogs called Ned and Percy!"

"S24643 is a gorgeous location for a family holiday. It has much charm and character and is private and cosy. The kitchen is well-equipped and the garden is a little sun spot. The only real downsides for us were that my teenage son was too long to sleep in the very short bunk beds so ended up sleeping on the floor! Also, on arrival we were quite concerned what we were going to find inside because the doors and windows were dirty, the paint was peeling badly and the front mat should have been thrown away it looked so grotty! We all commented that a quick lick of paint would transform the place. It made the whole cottage look tired and unloved. Also, the windows clearly hadn't been cleaned in a year! We were able to write in the dirt on the front window in the hope that someone might clean them for the next visitor! The rest of the cottage was fairly clean and welcoming. This is our only complaint because we really enjoyed our time there."

"A beautiful cottage in a lovely location with a great shop just a couple of doors down and a lovely safe and fully enclosed paved garden which was great for our dog. Downstairs was beautiful and cosy with lots of space and very good facilities. Upstairs was very quirky and warm. However beware that there are VERY low ceilings upstairs with the sloping ceilings and beams beginning within a couple of feet above the beds on one side. Access to the double beds is from only one side in both rooms (no access from the bottom of either bed due to the low beams). There is a very low beam in the doorway of the well equipped upstairs shower room and a very low sloping ceiling at the top of the stairs. You need to be of average to short height to cope with all of the beams upstairs (even our 10 year old son was bumping his head) and need to be fairly agile for the steep stairs."
