"The property was perfectly presented, very good indeed, it was small compared to other lodges that we have stayed in, but was plenty big enough for us, our 3 year old and dog. It was also one of the more expensive places we have stayed. However, the location is just incredible!! The views are too good for words. There are walks in in every direction and to suit every ability. It is about 15 minutes drive to the A82 which will take you to all that the West Highlands has to offer. The owners do not live on the estate full time and the caretaker is not on site, which did seem a little unusual when we booked, the advantage soon became clear - it added to the tranquility and seclusion. There is a mobile phone number for the caretaker who is always available. The only gripe was that there seems to be a daily data limit on the wifi connection, which limited some internet activities, but this wasn't really a problem. There is a TV in both bedrooms, but they do not have a separate satelite connection and so can only show what is on the TV in the living room. We watched very little TV, just DVDs in the evening and we took some children's programs on our harddrive as we always do to play on the TV. I appreciate the TV situation may be an issue to some, it was trivial to us but thought I should mention it.In summary: this is a truly special place, which instantly made us feel happy and content. An important part of a memorable holiday. And it has to be said, you do get what you pay for..."

"Amazing cottage in a beautiful location. The views are stunning. The only negative is it’s right on the road, so when you’re in bed you can hear every car and lorry going past, please don’t be put off but needs to be advised. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. The bedrooms are lovely with very cosy beds. The cottage is massive and the fire places are lovely. Very warm and cosy. We bought a Christmas tree which made the cottage so Christmasy. There’s games and books there, which my daughters enjoyed playing. The WiFi was good downstairs but not great upstairs, which didn’t matter to us. We did have problems with the heating but my husband managed to fix it the next day, which was lucky as it was December and freezing. The care taker Mo is lovely, she came straight over when we advised of no heating and tried to sort it for us. She also left us fresh eggs in the week. So friendly. The cottage is in a perfect location. About 30mins to fort William. We visited Loch Ness, Inverness, aviemore and Ben Nevis. A beautiful cottage and would definitely recommend it."

"We really enjoyed our stay at S22635 (two couples) and would return. Some aspects of the property are in need of refurbishing but it did not affect our enjoyment. Lots of space, large kitchen/diner, comfortable beds and lounge furniture and a fantastic wood-burning stove for those cool evenings. Superb views of the mountains from the lounge that has TV DVD etc. We used two nearby restaurants / pubs and both were very good. A car is essential because there is little public transport (one bus each way on Tuesdays only I think) and the road to Roy Bridge railway station and bus stop is not really suitable for walking along. S22635 is about 150 metres from the main road to Fort William but we did not hear any traffic. We enjoyed the peaceful but not isolated location and the company of the Jacob sheep and Belted Galloway cattle in an adjacent field. One small point, we think a ring binder with a copy of all the information about the property would be helpful."

"Very nice view from the house. No good opportunities for walking in the area. The house is ok, but a little worn and the garden does not invite you to use it for anything. The lid on the oven should be kept by a stick to be closed - not so convenient when you come with small children and therefore we did not use the oven. The door to the garden was so worn that we were not allowed to use it. The water in the house did not have to be drunk due to bacterial infection in the drilling, and the host had therefore left some water in bottles to us for the first days. But still annoying not being able to drink the water from the water tap or rinse vegetables in it. The paper telling about the problem was not quite new, and we did not meet anyone trying to fix the problem during the week we stayed in the house. So all in all a worn house, but cozy, with a nice location and a relatively low price."

"I stayed at Glas Doire recently with my elderly parents, one of which is disabled. The lodge is very warm, comfortable and homely, and in the perfect location, in a beautiful part of the world. The disabled bathroom was well equipped and spacious, although it could possibly benefit from some heating, instead of the heated towel rail, as it was a tad cold in the mornings for my dad. The rest of the lodge however, was well heated and very cosy.Overall, we had a wonderful stay, in a lovely lodge, and the owner Catherine was the perfect host, thank you. I would definitely recommend this property. Hopefully we'll be back again in the future."
