"We really enjoyed staying at the cottage in March 2018. It is a very warm and cosy cottage with a very efficient log fire, comfy beds, all mod cons, Sky TV etc, and is dog-friendly so they can come me too! The parking place is right outside the row of 3 cottages in total, in front of the garage. Compton is a very pretty South Downs village with a local pub that is not very pretty inside but does great food. There are numerous local rural walks starting right outside, but we ventured a bit further afield and visited Chichester, Arundel, Brighton, the beaches at the Witterings (East and West) and the Roman palace at Fishbourne, which is fascinating - be sure to take the behind-the-scenes tour if you can."

"A very well located cottage for all we wanted to do and it was interesting to learn of the history of the cottage.Exceptionally well presented bathroom and kitchen with equipment available. Did think that perhaps pots and pans had been dishwasher washed as there was a powdery film over some of them and they had to be washed before use. Had to contact owner over one small issue and she was very obliging. A lovely welcome pack had been left for us. Amenities in village were very good re shopping and eating out. Fantastic chip shop!!Parking was a bit of concern as there was no guaranteed parking spot so you were always a little concerned about finding one. We always did but a walk away from cottage."

"It’s a lovely cottage and owner very helpful .Very safe quite place to have a break from the busy city very friendly local people too , the church just a short walk from the cottage .The only thing is there’s no phone signal at all (neither no landline in the cottage ) however the neighbors are very kind and helpful .It’s actually very cosy warm inside the cottage lovely bed very hot warm shower .We have our little baby staying in owners travel cot and she loves the little cot , during the day we used as playpen . We would strongly recommend to family and friends it’s great place to have a break from busy noisy city . Thanks a bunch!"

"We have had quite a few cottage breaks in last few years and this is easily the best we have stayed in. The cottage itself is lovely, exceptionally well equipped and everything we could need had been thought of and provided. The welcome back was fabulous and very welcome. The location allows easy access to lots of walks, drives to further afield and the extremely good bus service was great for both the days you don’t want to drive and for getting back up the hill easily after an evening in Ryde. Would highly recommend West Mount for a lovely holiday and we are very likely to return."

"We enjoyed our stay at Myrtle Cottage. Clean and comfortable accommodation, plenty of room for 2 and a pet. Nice pub in the village serving decent pub style food. Well stocked local shop and an excellent tea room all within a 10 minute walk. The owners had thoughtfully left a welcome pack which included milk, shortbread and a small bottle of bubbly. Some visitors may find the poor wi-fi signal and mobile coverage an issue, but this didn't effect our enjoyment. We would not hesitate to return."
