"We (two adults, two children of 12 and 14 years) were warmly welcomed by the owners who live right next door! They have explained everything important to the functions of the devices in the apartment and also us. informed about shopping and good restaurants nearby. They were always very friendly and helpful, if you have any questions about the environment. The apartment is comfortably furnished and attractively designed. Crockery and cutlery are available in sufficient quantity for four people. Especially beautiful and quaint are the well-preserved historic stone walls made of flint! The property is a great starting point for all kinds of activities - be it to the beaches in the area (especially beautiful Joss Bay but also Minnis Bay in Birchington itself - there you can eat well with very nice sea view!) Or the numerous historical sites and Places in Kent (Canterbury, Sandwich, Leeds Castle ... etc). London could also be reached by train from Birchington Station in two hours (driving during the week AFTER 800 AM, which significantly reduces costs!)! When traveling by car, however, you always have more time than expected or as the Navi indicates - the roads are sometimes so narrow that two cars do not pass each other or in such a happy state (comparable to dirt roads in Germany) ). The beautiful Quex Park with the Quex House and the Powell-Cotton Museum is within walking distance of the apartment (about 900 m). Our children and we were very excited about this great and varied holiday and will be back!"

"Exactly what I needed after knee surgery at the McIndoe Centre. The cottage is really cosy and comfortable and really well equipped. Joan and Jim are lovely people - very welcoming and helpful. We really appreciated the gift of a bottle of fizz and cakes - so thoughtful. The cottage was the perfect place for me to recover from my knee replacement - lying on the comfy bed with the bedroom door open, listening to the birdsong, was just what the doctor ordered. Such a beautiful and peaceful place with gorgeous grounds - perfect for hobbling around on crutches."

"The views over the Rother Valley are beautiful and the oast is close to Rye and other places of interest as well as lovely countryside. It's a bit of a step to walk to the village pub. The oast itself has a very well-equipped kitchen, a big dining room and a comfortable lounge. We were 8 adults and had loads of space. The games room has bar billiards, table top football and a pool table. The garden is ok - nothing special - but there is a nice outside patio area with lovely views and a gas BBQ which looked practically new. We had a great time !"

"Cottage on first appearance was lovely. Upon walking in the cottage straight away I could smell dampness . The beds were very uncomfortable and and very rikatiy when you turned over in the night so did not sleep at all. Day one the boiler brock down and had to ask owner to come and reset it an get it going to which his wife said the boiler was on its last legs any way. The windows in the small Bathroom down stairs had old wooden windows that when the wind blowe they rattled and let a drift in."

"A pretty cottage in a lovely, peaceful area, convenient for touring. Friendly owners next door in the main house. However, we found the steep staircase a problem especially during the night when visiting the separate toilet located on the ground floor and then having to pass through the kitchen to wash hands in the bathroom. The bathroom has a difficult shower arrangement over a high sided bath. The provision of a shower with WC upstairs would transform the cottage."
