"We rented Densford for a week over the Christmas break. The cottage is well located, pretty and warm. However, the lounge area is incredibly dark only being lit by 2 low table lamps with no side tables for drinks which could very easily have been spilt on the floor. We had to bring down a bedside lamp and table which improved matters a little but still did not give adequate lighting to read comfortably. Likewise, the morning room area isvery dark and we had to move the kitchen table lamp onto the table just to be able to have a comfortable meal. For a winter stay, lighting is relevant and this could easily have been rectified by free standing uplighters and stronger bulbs. There is absolutely no cupboard space in the kitchen for dry storage so for our stay we had to move china and dishes from the only top cupboard so tins, packets etc could be put away. There is china provided but only 2 mugs and an assortment of smaller cups. All of the above caused us a good deal of frustration and inconvenience. One further point is that there is no hanging space in the 2nd bedroom so if both rooms are being used, hanging clothes all have to be kept in the main bedroom. I would also emphasise the steep stairs which I accept have been stated in the particulars. However, for safety you do need both hands free when using them and I would worry about children using them as a fall would not be broken. I completely understand thelimitations in staying in a traditional cottage but many of the above could be resolved inexpensively."

"The Cottage felt very homely and warm. Everything we needed was supplied to make it a very comfortable stay. Making lovely warm fires in the evening was a real treat and the cottage was well placed for the local small supermarket and pubs. The children loved the summer house where they could play pool and darts which was a welcome diversion for them and us! It was lovely to be able to take our Westie away with us, however owners of small dogs beware, as the garden whilst totally enclosed was not fully escape proof for mischievous little dogs! The walks up to Tennyson Down from the cottage were super and the views unsurpassed. Would recommend the west coast as the coastal walks and fossil hunting were great fun.All in a all a great Easter week spent on the Island, with Freshwater proving to be a great base and the cottage being a home from home after a day's walking and exploring"

"Having rented cottages for the past 20 years, we sadly have to be very candid with this review on Ox Cottage We feel that that this Cottage to be very tired, the ambiance was like an unkept back yard, not what we would call a holiday home. The brochure showed rolling fields, they were there but the only view from the Cottage was a desolate yard with a rusty bath and chairs and an old wooden shed. The flower troughs appeared to have been neglected or an after thought. The promise of a welcome pack was not kept, as was the first basket of logs. The heating seemed to have no occupier control. To say we were disappointed is an understatement, it spoilt our holiday, waste of money. Most people only get one holiday a year and it is so upsetting to feel let down like this."

"The cottage was certainly up to usual Snaptrip standards. If anything, the property was 'under-sold' in the sense that the garden was much nicer than we were led to believe, having an excellent outlook at the rear and lovely seating areas with enough privacy despite being semi-detached. Proximity to Amberley Castle is also a treat: being able to walk there and back from a fine-dining restaurant on a fine summer's evening was a memorable experience. Perhaps that could also be emphasised (for those who enjoy top-nosh).The only reason for not giving 5 stars was an unfortunate flood we suffered due to a drain blockage. The owner was initially difficult to contact but soon put things right and gave us a nice consolatory gift."

"We really enjoyed out stay at S13556. The owner was there when we arrived and made us feel very welcome. He had left lots of Christmas goodies and the house was very warm, clean and welcoming. We even had two Christmas trees and some Christmas decorations up. All of the rooms were very nice. A well equipped kitchen and a cosy dining room which is the conservatory. The lounge was a good size and had 3 very comfortable leather sofas and a nice big telly. A double bedroom on the same level as the lounge was very nice and spacious. On the top floor a nice family bathroom and twin bedroom and another very spacious bedroom and ensuite.Good value for money and we will definitely return."
