"Spent a week at the S9596 with my husband and 3 children, with three members of our family joining us for a couple of days. What a stunning property! Beautifully furnished, gorgeous views and everything thought of, from a better equipped kitchen than we have at home, to games, books and WiFi, and a TV in every bedroom. We spent hours on the peaceful patio, sitting on the loungers and drinking in the beautiful scenery and some of our party tried the jacuzzi, which was amazing The pool is huge and the pool house has showers, a loo, changing rooms, seating and toys for the kids to play with in the water. The pool was always a lovely temperature. Despite the owner living next door, the property is very private - we only saw Stuart when we needed something. He is hugely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for him - he even contacted us after we had left to let us know we had left something of value behind. Our relatives had to leave on the third day and didn't want to go! We felt the same on our final morning at the cottage. It really is the most relaxing holiday we have had in a long time and we cannot wait to return next year. Thank you Stuart for such a great holiday property!"

"We had a large group of 14 of us (5 of them children) and we all thoroughly enjoyed the stay at the Old Rectory. The views were outstanding, the cottage has been decorated to a high standard, and we had all of the amenities we needed. The Pool was superb and big enough to have all of the adults and children in there most of the time! The hot tub was a lovely bonus, and we even braved this in the cold!! I loved the fact the bedrooms were downstairs, and two of them had french doors out to the gardens. Lovely place, and you felt relaxed just looking at the acres of land outside, and hills! The children loved the pool and all improved their swimming and even the youngest were joining in jumping in the deep end with the older ones! Great place, nice and quiet and peaceful, and the owners have made sure everything is to a high standard, and lovely decor too. Would really recommend to anyone who is looking for peace and quiet and to enjoy time with their families/friends. The week went way too quickly! Thanks for a fabulous memory for my upcoming 40th Birthday and my sisters 38th birthday celebrations, as well as celebrating my nephews birthday! We all had a fantastic break! :0)"

"We were very disappointed with the general standard of this property. We found it to be shabby and grubby, in need of a deep clean and lots of general maintenance.I contacted the owner prior to leaving this review, he did offer money off my next stay but we won't be going back and now he is not replying to any messages. The problems were mostly things that could be easily fixed with a bit more care and attention. For example one toilet seat was broken, taps were loose and caused water to escape from the sink, there were stains on the carpets, a cigarette lighter was found down the side of a sofa, the hot tub wasn't cleaned during our stay, the pool had lots of silt at the bottom. The sofas and most of the dining chairs had sagged, one of the bathroom door locks was broken causing an elderly Aunt to become locked in, a plug socket was loose from the wall, the garden chairs were old and rotten making them unsafe and one of the shower heads was held up with string."

"Just returned from a 3 night stay and could of stayed longer! We were a party of 14 to celebrate a 40th birthday . The house is stunning, beautifully decorated, ample space, immaculate high standards clean throughout. Kitchens full of everything you need, lounges with log fires, comfortable sofas ,TVs. Each bedroom has TVs, comfortable beds . But I'd say there is no need to watch tv when your in the beautiful surroundings. You will not find fault with anything. The pool is massive and heated with lots of inflatables for the children . Showers, toilet & changing rooms very clean maintained . Outside is the hot tub which is maintained every day by the owner Stuart . Beautiful views . The owner Stuart is very helpful with anything you need . He is also a fabulous pianist, came over one night gave us our very own show . His brother Gareth came over and joined in . Will be definitely coming book next year. Would highly recommend !!!"

"From the moment we arrived and were welcomed by Margaret, two bottles of fizz and a tub of home-made brownies, we knew our family 'Eurovision' weekend was going to be great. This is just the most perfect place for a large family gathering, and so much room to spread out. The 'library' on the second floor is absolutely stunning, and the pictures on here do not do it justice. Plenty of fridge room, with an extra one for chilled drinks..... Good cooking facilities, and whilst the pots and pans may not be shiny and new, they are perfectly adequate. Also, if you're there with nice weather, as we were, there are three large BBQs on the patio. Beds were comfy, and the bedrooms a good size. We had a great time, and I'm sure we'll be back"
