"Had a wonderful time at S16591 and found the house keeper most helpful. The house is obviously old and a little scruffy around the edges but the sitting room and dining room are very impressive and the bedrooms are lovely. But do note, two or three are joined, therefore you have to walk through one bed room to get to the other, (we were a party of 17 adults and 6 children so this wasn't a problem at all ) The bathrooms i.e. showers need updating (towel rails or hooks would also help) but we had plenty of hot water, (we ALL had to get ready for an early morning wedding so we did put it to the test)! As others have mentioned the kitchen is small for the size of the house and definitely needs some TLC. I arranged with the Lantern Pike to provide all our main meals, that was a supper for the Friday we arrived, a sit down Wedding Breakfast and a light meal that evening. Therefore we only had to organise breakfast for ourselves and as we were sadly leaving Sunday, we went across and had a cooked breakfast at the Lantern Pike. I can't recommend enough, the Chef (Chris) at the Lantern Pike. All the meals he prepared were superb, he and his team (Leanne, Meggan and Rachel, I think) came over, got everything ready, served and clear everything away. Amazing value for money and an asset to Park Hall .... which in turn means the kitchen doesn't become an issue for you. So in all a lovely place to stay and I certainly do recommend. P.S. If I may make a suggestion it would be great if toilet rolls could be provided for the duration of ones stay and also a small fresh hand soap in each bathroom. Plus a check that the windows can all open."

"S75606 is a wonderful house which accommodated our extended family of 10 with ease. The snooker table, piano and two tv's kept the younger ones occupied, still leaving quiet corners for reading etc. Bedrooms are really impressive, 4 poster beds a speciality! The garden has great views and provides a pleasant area to sit outside, as long as you don't mind sharing the lawn with the odd visiting sheep!Walks into the wilds of the Peaks can start from the front drive and a whole host of attractions too numerous to mention (see tourist information sites) are within a reasonable drive away. Nearby Buxton or Chapel-en-le-Frith have large supermarkets and loads of eating places. Slightly disappointing was that the woodland adjoining the property is not accessible, too dangerous with hidden drops apparently. The signage from the road is designed to deter anyone entering the lane, 'Footpath only, no vehicles' with no clue that S75606 is at the bottom, caused some of the family to spend some time driving back and forth along the single-tracked road looking for the house. The whole family were so impressed that we are already planning a return visit."

"Our family (nine adults and four young children) recently spent a delightful week at S75606. Set in a quiet, picturesque location it offers extensive accommodation in an historic and atmospheric setting. No expense has been spared in tastefully presenting this property, whilst at the same time, respecting the age of the Hall. The bedrooms were well furnished and all had quality bedding and towels. Hot water was plentiful, even with so many of us. The snow outside was made more delightful by the warmth of the wood burners inside. Add to that an excellent heating system and we were very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and the laundry room was a real bonus with young children. The pool/billiard table proved very popular and there were numerous games to play. We can highly recommend this property and will certainly be returning to it ourselves."

"The property requires: A tumble drier for the number of guests and towels used with the hot tub. A hairdryer. I have never rented a property without one. Laundry basket A clothes airer Potato masher Kitchen scissors A smaller saucepan would be useful when feeding children small meals plus a few plasic plates/cups/glasses that can be safely taken into the garden. No visitors book or guides to local places of interest Drinking tumblers in bathrooms or smaller glasses suitable for use by children. We all loved the hot tub but 5 of our party developed skin rashes/ and bites. We cannot say the rash was caused by the hot tub but it was a bit of a coincidence. Despite the above it's a lovely property and we all enjoyed our holiday. With a few additions this could an excellent holiday venue."
