"I was expecting a lodge in a holiday park but this little gem is nestled inbetween two lakes and with a third lake in the grounds. It was hard to find but we had the owner's phone number and had to ring for directions. However if the directions said the gated track next to the horse stud it would have been easier. It's one lodge and there is no outside/street lamps. But there is a sensor torch as you go in S101594(unfortunately we didn't arrive til after dark). It was a little scary at first as it was so dark and just couldn't see much.S101594 was really clean with freshly made beds. The owner had left us tea, coffee, sugar, milk and a box of chocolates which was a really nice touch. There was also cleaning products like fairy liquid, towels, tea towels and sponges to wash up with. It's very peaceful and the early morning views were stunning. A manual for the gas oven would have been good too. Luckily I managed to find one on the internet(it did have free wifi) but I'm used to electric oven and just couldn't get the main oven to work or it did and I wasn't sure it was working so we used the grill function. All in all it was a very beautiful ,spacious and warm lodge. I would recommend it but try and get there before dark as it'll be easier."

"Excellent and cosy place to spend a quiet week and, if you have the urge, somewhere from which you can take off and explore Oxford and the surrounding area. Every piece of equipment worked except the security key holder which would not close, and one portable heater, even though I replaced the fuse in its plug. Combined CD player and radio also a bit of a mystery! A really good feature is the open hearth and the chance to have a fire - logs were supplied but if you want more go to B and Q or Homebase just down the road into Abingdon after the A34 interchange. Best local pub is the Merry Miller at Cothill - good food and drink and log fires. Beware of a very busy road just beyond the lane on which the Cottage stands. Cars are driven at well over the 40 MPH limit supposedly in force. Not easy for pedestrians. Information left for visitors very thorough."

"Had a most enjoyable family get-together. (4 adults, 2 oldies, 3 kids 4,7 &9). Property is at the end of a farm track from a small village, so no pub or corner shop within walking distance, but supermarket 15 mins drive away. Lovely location great for walks (hilly) and bramble gathering. Cows and horses in surrounding fields provide interest. Baby pheasants everywhere.Property has been renovated, but now slightly run-down, which makes it more relaxing. Decent accommodation. Plumbing worked after initial problem with hot water solved. Good dining room and kitchen. TV and WiFi all ok. Good garden with tables for eating outside, but pity grass was not cut until day 4. Hostess responded effectively to any little problems raised. Would repeat."

"The cutest of cottages...and a perfect place to retreat to after a day exploring the Cotswolds. We cosied up in front of the woodburner each evening and it was so relaxing. We enjoy breakfasts out and after looking at their website we ventured up to the Local Farmshop and it was like a ghost town ...we asked if we could have breakfast and had a luke warm response so we left. There is the one pub in the village...which we found odd to say the least. Plastic tables...extraordinarily bright lighting, not cheap and the was lined with locals not prepared to allow you to get close to choose your drink.. so our advise would be to stock up on food and nibbles...close the door and enjoy the cosy surroundings of the cottage x"

"On the first night we reported that approx half the electric sockets were not working. The owners responded by coming around within 30 mins but were unable to fix it that night and said they would return the next day but they never did, or did not keep us informed, so we had to buy an extension lead to operate our child monitor in one of the bedrooms. We found cooking utensils had mould on them. The family concluded that although the farmhouse is in a beautiful area with beautiful views and suited us (3 famalies, 8 persons) we would not return until the owners sorted out their maintenance issues. Hence we found that it was overpriced for what we got."
