What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In Shipston On Stour To Rent.
Mr Carlton - verified booking
"There are a lot of NT properties nearby as well as the delights of Warwick, Stratford, Banbury, Chipping Camden, etc for visiting. The cottage itself was fine, clean and everything worked - but - and this is a bit silly - the light levels in the sitting/dining room were fairly minimal (with no supplementary lights) for anyone who wants to read! There were also a number of farm shops and cafes in the vicinity - also very useful. There was no "Visitor's book". These are always useful for weeding out the places not to visit, but lots of tourist information and some local pub recommendations by the owners. Of all the NT places I would recommend, Snowshill Manor, Chastelton House, Coughton Court, Charlcote Manor, the Fleece (pub) at Bretforten - I would not recommend Upton House. Warwick Castle was a wonderful building ruined by all the "attractions", and the high entry and car parking fees. Also there so many wasted opportunities with the building, most of the rooms in the towers were locked, there was no distinction made between what was actually old and what was a copy or replica. Kenilworth Castle (English Heritage) by comparison was just great - and with a super history, good access, restaurant, parking, and relevant information."

"Very spacious cottage, plenty of room and really useful to have the three rooms all ensuite. Well equipped, warm and cosy. We were able to have a family Christmas with my sister (in adjoining Paradise Cottage) and also do a buffet for other family on Boxing Day. Loads of space, lovely Christmas decorations and a beautiful location. Close to other facilities such as supermarkets and town centre only a short drive away. Fantastic, would use again as ideal when visiting family nearby."

"This is a very special place. The mixture of accommodation - bustling kitchen, quiet tv room and the gorgeous 'snug' as well as the very spacious and charming bedrooms and the glorious bath on the top floor meant we were spoiled for choice. The gardens were delightful. One comment the smell of oil in the pantry is quite disconcerting and pervades upwards through the floorboards. Nothing a few candles could not conceal, but maybe something to look at! Thank you for a great holiday."
Mrs Sue Bund, Camberley, Surrey - verified booking
"It was lovely to have a bathroom and bedroom each as we were three friends travelling together and the location of the cottage was very central to all the Cotswold attractions we intended to visit. We saw an owl and woodpecker in the gardens outside the cottage, and enjoyed having sheep, a horse and what we think were quail in the fields next to us. The sitting room was comfy and cosy for our evenings in enjoying the freeview TV. There was plenty of parking space."

"Expensive for what it was. Dead mice and vole not very pleasant even if it is and old farmhouse. Friends felt it could have been cleaner. Middle bathroom really grotty and toilet moved when sat on, most alarming! The lounges, too many, were nice and bedrooms and kitchen reasonably comfortable. No garden furniture in front garden and at back benches etc were old and grotty. Key safe took ages to get into and we had to oil it for future guests."
