"On arrival we found a damp and musty smell in the double bedroom, which we later found to be from a very damp sheet and one pillow case. Both smelt musty and were not fit to sleep on. Luckily we had brought a sheet with us. The washer/drier had no instructions with it and we could not get the tumble drier to work properly. The wall mounted cupboard in the kitchen (with plates, bowls and glasses) had black mould at the back and really smelt. All the pottery and cooking utensils had not been cleaned properly (covered in grease). The hob was disgustingly greasy and not cleaned properly. Black mould was on all windows and patio doors. The toilet size is a joke and it is impossible to sit properly on it unless you are a child. The only shaver point is in the toilet where there is no mirror. The single bedroom adequate apart from there being nowhere to hang any clothing apart from a hook on the back of a door. The double bedroom is a bit of a joke with one tiny cabinet at the bottom of the bed, again no clothes hanging apart from a hook on back of door. What is the point of having a shower over the bath when there is no shower curtain? The freesat box in the lounge does not work because it has not been set up and requests a post code when you switch it on. The general decoration was fine. Please note having spent holidays in a proper S14352 this is in our opinion nothing more than a large shed. Very disapointed in the rating given this is no way a 4 star accommodation. I am sad to have to give this such a poor review especially after the wonderful accommadation we had with you last year. (Seagulls Shanklin). "

"We really enjoyed our stay and Claremont House and Chris was lovely. The hot tub and spa was a lovely addition to the place, although the hot tub could have done with a good clean and a couple of the nozzles weren't working properly.Off street parking was a plus if a little congested at times. This place was advertised as a luxury apartment but for me it lacked the luxury part which is reflected in my review. If this hadn't have been advertised as luxury my review would be very different as it's a nice place to stay. The following is what took away the luxury part for me:No housekeeping all week, only 1 spare loo roll provided and no spare bin bags. The bed was very soft and could do with a new mattress. The bedding had a rough pattern on the duvet cover and pillow cases, I would suggest changing these for plain ones. The towels were too small and mismatched, consider replacing with matching bath sheets. There was a random freezer in the bedroom, would never use it because of the noise it would make, so just remove it.Consider adding some curtains in the bedroom because the sun comes through the slats in the very nice wooden blinds and shined straight into my face from about 5/6am.The light in the bathroom was a waste of time, could barely tell it had been switched on, consider upgrading to a brighter unit/bulb.Other than that everything else was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"A lovely spacious house in a good location central to places of interest on the island. Parking was good as was the secure garden for our dog and was well kept. It was relatively quiet despite the road so no problem to us. The kitchen was very well equipped, nothing was lacking and it was appreciated that there were plenty of bin liners and dish washer tablets etc. However what let it down was the double and king sized beds which were both hard and uncomfortable, in fact I have a visible bruise on the top of my thigh to show for it. The shower cubicle in the master bedroom is really quite grubby and requires a good deep clean. A shame as the baths, toilets and wash basins were all ok in all the other bathrooms. There was however a tendency for the downstairs toilet to go into free flow at times. The back door to the garden is sticking as is the door in the downstairs bathroom and the blinds need a good clean as does the cooker. A bit more attention to detail would so improve this property as it is classed as luxury and it is expensive. A pint of milk at least left in the fridge would have been expected instead of UHT sachets and a couple of biscuits. It is a good property and we very much enjoyed our stay but it could be so much better."

"Really disappointed by the freezing welcome....no heating on, despite one of the coldest weeks of the year!!!!!would have been easy to contact your local agent (he lived next door!), and to have gone in and put rads on....we sat there all night with our overcoats on, and went to bed with the 2 duvets from 2nd bedroom on top of us (luckily we had no other couple sharing)To cap it all , there were no lighters or wood for the wood burning stove, and even the TV didn't come on......no book of instructions for it, so we had to call your office the next morning, where you did then arrange for the very friendly neighbour to go in and fix it...but there was apparently one button that we should not touch, otherwise satellite tv lost again!!....an instruction manual could have alerted us to that.A great shame as the location was excellent, and the kitchen particularly clean....but all in all , not a great advert for your company, especially as the price was more than other similar properties....would hope you are able to look on this complaint sympathetically"

"We loved the cabin, the location was stunning, which was in the woods! The parking was great. Fantastic area, as it is on the route of the coastal walk which we love so much. The only things we would say would be that the master bed was VERY uncomfortable. We both had bad backache due to the bed, and we rolled together - not as romantic as it sounds! The property was a bit damp, but this was soon resolved with the heating put on, and this was expected due to the location/time of year, so not a problem. The washing machine did not work properly and wouldn't spin the clothes, so we gave up trying to wash things. That was a bit annoying, but again, not a massive problem. The TV there was fab - it had CBeebies, so excellent to distract a four-year-old! The kitchen/bathrooms were clean. It's a lovely property and if it had a new bed in there we would definitely return. Thank you! It was our first family holiday and we all had a wonderful time.It was a lovely, peaceful base to explore the magical island.xx"
