"The cottage was ok, not the best we've stayed in unfortunately. We booked this cottage as it was all on the ground level and accessible for our disabled son. With this in mind we were disappointed to find that although the shower was a walk-in type there were no grab rails and even more annoying, no shelf for shampoo etc. This meant my son had to lean out of the shower to reach his shampoo from the basin which was the nearest we could put it so that he could get it! The owners have gone to the trouble of making a ramp up to the back door so that disabled clients can access the cottage, but have not followed this thinking through to the shower and toilet facilities. I find it's all in the detail and the cottage was lacking in some important things. Why is there no grab rail in the toilet, when there is an alarm cord? One tea towel supplied for the whole week. Chipped crockery. The frying pan was dirty when we took it out of the cupboard. The cottage is advertised as sleeping 5, but the second double bedroom is tiny. We had to move the bed to one side just to get into the bed, Again anyone with mobility problems would not be able to use this room. When we cleaned up before we left, we hoovered the sofa and when we took the sofa cushions off we were shocked at the amount of debris we found there, so we actually left the cottage in a better state of cleanliness than when we found it! The details also mentioned the use of an ipad, but there wasn't one, so we couldn't use the sonos system that other reviewers had mentioned. I'm sorry to say we won't be booking another stay here."

"Excellent and cosy place to spend a quiet week and, if you have the urge, somewhere from which you can take off and explore Oxford and the surrounding area. Every piece of equipment worked except the security key holder which would not close, and one portable heater, even though I replaced the fuse in its plug. Combined CD player and radio also a bit of a mystery! A really good feature is the open hearth and the chance to have a fire - logs were supplied but if you want more go to B and Q or Homebase just down the road into Abingdon after the A34 interchange. Best local pub is the Merry Miller at Cothill - good food and drink and log fires. Beware of a very busy road just beyond the lane on which the Cottage stands. Cars are driven at well over the 40 MPH limit supposedly in force. Not easy for pedestrians. Information left for visitors very thorough."

"Lovely cottage and we enjoyed the stay but why oh why don't cottage owners spend some time in their cottage. Its the little day to day things that are missing. No electric shaver point. No decent mirror for shaving anywhere in the cottage. Hot water boiler that "tripped out" twice in the week. No alarm. The first thing you know is there is no hot water! Surely a decent plumber could resolve this?Long handled broom with a broken shaft. Insufficient glasses in the kitchen. No coffee table so nowhere to put the cups when watching TV. Rubbish bins and recycling boxes have no details about clearance! There was no room in the wheely bin for our rubbish! The two sofa's were uncomfortable and rather grubby. On the plus side beds were comfortable and shower was certainly better than most other cottages we have rented. Arrival instructions were clear and accurate."

"When you first arrive you think It is really nice but it’s not until you are settling in that you see the faults.Sofa terribly uncomfortable, plates and cups chipped and dirty .. had to wash them all before using them for the first time. The whole cottage wasn’t very clean but the by far the worst thing was the broken shower. Kept flooding so much onto the floor of the bathroom as the the shower door is broken and the plug hole is blocked . This meant I had to keep turning the shower off and wait for it to drain. Before you reply back with if you had rang us we could of done something about it ... think again .. because people have been giving negative comments about the shower and sofa since June of this year and you still haven’t done anything about it so me ringing you would of made zero difference"

"Lovely setting just off the beaten track - perfect mix of quaint country setting but close to local amenities. Nicely decorated and maintained property and we really enjoyed our stay. Plenty to see and do in the nearby areas. Only complaint would be that there is technically an enclosed area for dogs however it’s not attached to the house and you have to go through the garden to get there. The gaps in the fence were large enough for our dachshund to fit through so this was pretty useless and there is no gate or similar stopping the dogs from running onto the road which meant we always had to go outside with them to watch they didn’t wander which was a shame. Absolutely lovely garden though and stunning rapeseed crops to the side and rear - massive fields of yellow when we visited in May."
