"Lovely cottage in a tiny one street village 12 miles from York. The accommodation was adequate for 3 adults and a dog, and the football-sized field at the rear of the house plus the free roaming ducks and a barrel of barley to feed them was a big unexpected bonus for my 90 year old mother-in-law who loved hand feeding them. There is only one pub/restaurant in the village, well within walking distance called The White Bear which had a lovely English Country village pub atmosphere, very busy and very friendly and which sold brilliant food at slightly inflated prices compared to other places we ate in in the area. It was remote though and being surrounded by unlit winding country roads with heavy goods vehicles tearing around blind bends it was a bit offputting especially when impatient drivers following our more cautious speeds were getting visibly frustrated.Still, it was a good enter for visiting York, Harrogate, Whitby, Castle Howard and Helmsley,, not forgetting Eden Camp near Malton. The only issue of note with the cottage was the shower compartment grouting and sealant. It really needed to be renewed but we do understand how difficult that can be in between leaving and arriving visitors with only a couple of hours in between. Better then for those time consuming jobs to be professionally tackled in the closed season, sufficiently well to last all through the following season."

" Me and my boyfriend stayed at Saddle Cottage on 31/03/17 - 4/4/17 we were met by Nicola and her mum when we arrived and they showed us around the cottage. They had left us home made scones with homemade jam and butter which was delish, the cottage was modern through out and very spacious and cosy (especially with the wood burner on) the bed was very comfy in the main bedroom, the location of this cottage was perfect as it sits right on the path for cleveland way and the village of Osmotherley was just on the right of the cottage. The best thing about this place is that there are lots of walks right on the doorstep. There are 3 pubs in the village and we went to all 3 and they were amazing but our fave was the queen catherine, we can not wait to return to Osmotherley "

"Lovely comfortable cottage in a very pretty village. Some lovely walks on the doorstep but you need to drive a few miles to visit anything else, however we like the tranquility of a quiet village so wasn't a problem for us and we knew what to expect. The garden was a big disappointment and not suitable for our small dog as it was very stoney and small. There is a reason there are no pictures of it on the website, also the owners cottage is very close and they overlook the garden and you can see into each other's lounges. We were also told on arrival that we could only use the track down to the (fenced off) stream at the end of the property. They were growing hay so the 30 acres of land were out of bounds! Still had a lovely holiday in a beautiful part of the country. Ena's flapjacks were amazing."

"We wanted a holiday cottage somewhere near my son's family home in Yorkshire as it was the school's half term. We booked late so we were lucky to find Garden's Cottage. This cottage is ideal for a couple who bring their dogs away with them, it has a large garden with off road parking. The village is small with plenty of walkways to explore...lovely open countryside. This is a real country olde worlde cottage with beams and log fire so please do not amuse people in the review book with petty complaints.. if you want a 5 star hotel please go to one.The owner is a wonderful gentleman who brought extra logs without being asked.. he was so friendly.Yes I would stay at this cottage again a warm and snug holiday base.Thank youLyn &Pete plus 2 Jack Russell dogs"

" We came up North and found a gem of a place... very friendly owners who provided a welcome pack and were quick to sort out the one issue we had... the place is too nice for a holiday place as it has such a homely feel to it... The village is only a few minutes walk with the old established shops that have disappeared from so many high streets... the old butcher , baker and the lovely Wednesday market... Kirkbymoorside is ideally placed for all the local sites i.e Saltburn , Whitby, Scarborough and our only disappointment has been we haven't had enough time to explore it all.. And last but just as important it is very dog friendly with a lovely safe garden for our Golden Retriever to enjoy "
