What our customers are saying about our Self Catering Holidays In Yorkshire.

"The Cottage was lovely and extremely well equipped - excellent. However the Information Booklet left at the property made us feel very uncomfortable. There was no 'Welcome' or 'Enjoy your Holiday' within this book, it was more like a list of 'don't ignore these rules' or there will be consequences (ie., you will not get your £200 security deposit back). In particular there was a comment suggesting guests were only there for one reason and that was to destroy the hot tub! Why would anyone pay a not insubstantial amount of money to go there for the sole purpose of destroying the hot tub??? We are not vandals!! This spoilt our holiday because we felt we were being watched like little school children, in fact we had a note left for us complaining we had left a window a tiny bit open when we went out (it was over 30 degrees and the upstairs of the property was unbearably hot at night). We did use the hot tub (although not during the day because there were too many wasps which seemed to be nesting in the bushes by the hot tub) but we did not feel able to relax, which was what a holiday should be all about, not being afraid of breaking the rules and losing ones deposit. Also the double bed had a large piece of wood under the mattress because the base was broken and this made it so uncomfortable we had to take the mattress off the bed and use it on the floor."

"Couple of issues with the lodge, handles missing off the drawers in the bedroom and the base of the bed was visible which wasn't a pretty sight. However, the bed was extremely comfor table so that won points back. The shower jet head had one missing so didn't really work but the rest of the shower was great. Coffee table was badly stained and there was sugar all over the dining table when we arrived. The cooker produced burning smoke when turned on because of burnt on food on the bottom.of the oven which left us with the doors open and flapping tea towels before dinner. Ironically, as a young couple taking a break, we really enjoyed the lodge and area and these things didn't really affect us. just a little TLC given to the lodges and it would be perfect."

"These lodges are in need of upgrading .. the sofa that we had to pull out for our third bed was really falling to pieces .. it was incredibly uncomfortable for our boys and they were only 10 and 13 so it would have been really uncomfortable for adults .. each morning as we tried to put it back together we wondered if we could actually make it back into a sofa again it was so bad .. the carpets were in need of Replacing ... one of the lamps in the bedroom was broken and the other had no shade ... the bathrooms did look as if they had been recently replaced so perhaps they are in the middle of upgrading them .. we left a day early because we thought it would have been a lot nicer for the money we paid"

"We had a wonderful stay here recently for our October half term, there were tears from the children when we left! Location is perfect, lovely to be In the country but only a stones throw from York. We love this part of the country, there is just so much to do! The house is beautiful and lovely and clean! It’s the best equipped kitchen out of any house we’ve hired before. Hot tub was lovely! I’m sure once the children are a bit older we will be back again and I’ve recommended it to other friends. Couldn’t fault it. Thank you for the lovely biscuits, raspberries and tomatoes! Thank you so much for returning the tablet! See you in the future. xx"

"The lodge was very tired. There was a massive crack in the cooker top. The hot tub couldn't maintain its heat. The carpets were stained. The beds in the twin room had awful mattress. You can't open the window in the twin room. The hot tubs aren't sheltered enough so it's windy and cold. There is also a lack of privacy. It's weird you can't park outside lodge. There is room to do this. The staff are helpful and the surroundings are lovely. It's good that there is a baby gate on the stairs. Overall the amount paid wasn't worth it."
