"I am really pleased I booked Ivy Cottage. It looked lovely and I'm pleased to be able to say it IS very lovely! We found the location easily, after taking notes from a phone call I had with the owner the week before. We were able to park right outside the cottage all week, but you could fit 2 cars easily. The cottage is nicely laid out, very clean and prettily decorated. It has a modern bathroom and nice, white kitchen. It is also the best stocked kitchen I've ever seen in a holiday cottage. Even a slow cooker and a mixer! The owner also left some much welcome treats for us, which after just over seven hours on the road, were very appreciated. Scones, clotted cream, jams and milk. There was also salt and pepper, oil, coffee, sugar, oh all sorts of food bits in the cupboard. Hand soap in the kitchen and bathroom, kitchen towel, tea towels, and oven gloves. I could go on! At Ivy Cottage there are patio doors out on to your own terrace and a few steps down to your own garden. There are garden chairs, a rotary airer w/cover. And a gate out on to the grounds, with a beautiful glass summer house and lake, it's all quite lovely, and so very peaceful. We also met the owners husband. He's an amazing character, with lots of useful tips about where to go and what to see. We never felt 'bothered' by them and knew they were close at hand if we had needed them. There was a full bird feeder on the patio, which wasn't full for long with the large amount of wild birds in the garden, and 3 very cheeky squirrels. We did buy some food to keep them topped up and saw coal, great and blue tits, robins, blackbirds and magpies. Ivy Cottage is in a great location for visiting mid and south Wales. We even made it up to Corris on our last day, which is about 2 hours away. We both fell in love with Wales, the scenery is truly stunning. We would highly recommend this as a great place to stay, and would definitely hope to return one day. Hopefully sooner rather than later."

"We were a group of 13 ladies celebrating two 50th birthdays. We arrived at 7pm it was cold and damp when we arrived, the house was all lit up with sparkling lights outside,we were met by Georgie who had already put our internet shopping away and she showed us around the house which was lovely the photos on the web page don’t do justice to the house. The kitchen was outstanding the dining table fitted everyone around, and there was a tv in there where we plugged in our own karaoke machine we had a fab night eating drinking and singing no worrying about upsetting the neighbors as there aren’t any. We had a fantastic weekend in a fantastic property that is owned by a lovely lady. I would definitely recommend this house and we will return one day."

"There were three generations in our family party, mum, dad, daughter, Nanna and we all agreed that this was the best cottage we've stayed in. Full of character, well equipped and very clean. A wonderful welcome awaited us after a 4hr 45 min journey from Essex, the table was all laid out for afternoon tea with freshly made Welsh cakes, delightful. The hot tub in the back garden was a very welcome addition and one that we all enjoyed. Our dog throughly enjoyed her walks along the sea front which was just a short five minutes walk away from the cottage. We loved the peace and quiet of the location but can understand it may be too remote for some people."

"We had a lovely break at Coeden Afal. The mid property was slightly unusual a booking for us. But for the money it worked out great as neither of the properties either side where occupied. The small courtyard with hot tub was relaxing and the front garden cosy, we even did some pruning :) We loved the walk down to the beach at least on or twice a day, we travelled around the coast and went to visit some of the wrecks. The only issues we found was the lane down to the beach was littered with garden rubbish and a large amount of dog mess. With some tlc and making sure owners clean up behind their pets, the place could be wonderful."

"Great cosy little cottage, perfect for 2-4 people, 6 would perhaps struggle for space. Good amenities for myself personally. Only two slight disappointments, the mattress in the master bedroom isn't that comfortable so didn't sleep brilliantly. Also there was an issue with the boiler during my stay. It worked but every 30 minutes kept making loud groaning and rattling noises which lasted about 3 minutes. I did mention this to the owners and they did try to get someone to look at it who was unavailable so this was not their fault but the noise was very annoying when I came down to try and work. in peace away from the city.
