"the house was lovely. Plenty of room for us, five adults, five children (ages 5 to 16) and a large dog.En-suites to every bedroom (6), plus a shower on the ground floor, and a hosepipe in the garden for the dog. Masses of room outside for all to play or relax. Although the garden was NOT secure for a dog. The house was comfortable, beds were good, all the showers worked, we did have to ask for patio door to be unlocked and for bulbs to be changed in one of the showers, and one of the windows would not close, another seemed to be "bent" in its frame. On the gas hob two out of the five rings would not work, and the main oven packed up altogether. they did let us use the oven in one of the other cottages that was not let out, but that was a pain trying to cater for ten in a very small oven, and having to walk it across the way. But we coped and had fun! There was very limited utensils in the kitchen, no mixing bowls, no dishes for the oven and I had to wash ALL the pans before I could use them. Built in bbq, but no utensils for that either. They did not supply toilet rolls, only a small amount in each of the toilets! For the amount we paid there really should have been a few spare, no welcome pack either. There was nothing for children to do, no games in the house, just a pack of cards and a couple of old books. Luckily we took our own. The hotel was quite a walk down a very steep hill, (OK going down) we took ourselves down every night to use the pool, which was clean, but could do with updating, broken tiles need to be fixed. We didn't eat in their restaurant, but the menu looked OK. Apart from that Hotel their was nothing else in the vicinity, just a small local shop. The beach was lovely for us with lots of driftwood and small shells and rock pools, not for small children, as it is quite "dirty sand" . Would I go back? Yes, because I like the quiet and peace, and I know to take EVERYTHING I might need. No, if I wanted to be near a nice beach. Value for money?, I think it is overpriced. But it was quite a late booking, and there were very few places available for a big party plus dog."

"This has the potential to be a really nice place for large groups to stay as all bedrooms are ensuite. unfortunately while we were there the drains were smelly and gurgling, one hot bath tap in the attic bedroom wouldn’t work until it was manually pulled forcibly outwards. The cooker has all the temperatures rubbed off and a knob is missing. The ailing dishwasher failed by Thursday and despite phone calls ( no phone signal didn’t help) and a visit to the hotel on day 2 with a list the septic tank wasn’t emptied until Friday- the day before we went home. The cottage is spacious and nicely furnished and the Internet is ok, there is no phone signal at all but the owners have provided a payphone. There isn’t much to do in Ferryside but lots of nicer places nearby. Access to the beach is over the railway line which is The main line to Carmarthen. The tide was out most mornings so the beach wasn’t visible until the afternoon. There is now a pedestrian ferry to Llansteffan beach opposite timetables are shown at the Ferryside station, it doesn’t run every day There is an indoor pool in the Three Rivers hotel available for cottage guests but it’s also used by folk on the caravan park next door. Food in the hotel was ok we went to the Sunday carvery which was crowded but had lots of choices of meats and an enormous choice of vegetables. If you like you like your meat well done you’ll love it"

"Great area for exploring the sandy beaches of SW Wales. The staff at the hotel (who run the cottage) are very friendly. The cottage advert left us assuming the swimming pool was at the cottages - it isn't - it's over half a mile away down a lane I thought was unsafe to walk along due to it being so narrow and having no footpath. Once there the pool is lovely. In today's connected world I would have expected wifi and mobile connectivity as a must have, especially considering the overall price of the rental. A minor issue was the crockery and cutlery - looks like mismatched leftovers from the hotel. Again with the price being paid, I would have expected a nice matching set for the number of guests. There was a note left on the window sill telling us about the welcome nibble and tipple, nice touch except there was no tipple, only a pack of welshcakes. What could have been a nice touch backfired. The settees has seen better days and ought to b replaced. Overall it's a nice cottage and these minor issues will not stop me returning."

"My friend and I stayed at the delightful Cwmtrwch Cottage from 9th to 16th October 2015. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be going back there at the earliest opportunity. The beds were really comfortable, something we often find seriously lacking at other places we have stayed in the UK. We went for a swim every morning in the extremely pleasant pool which was never crowded, and we also enjoyed the jacuzzi and steam room. A real treat! Our hosts, Stewart and Emma, were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The location was nice and peaceful. We had delicious cakes and tea in the cafe. Only and 15 minutes drive and we were at the beautiful Aberglasney Gardens and a mere 10 minutes drive took us to the fascinating National Botanic Gardens of Wales. Venturing further-a-field, we visited the stunning Pembrokeshire coast. All in all a very enjoyable holiday. Can't wait to go back again. Many thanks. Sorry about all the adjectives but I can't help it. It was so AMAZING!"

"This is the second time we have stayed at Cwmtwrch Cottage and we enjoyed it just as much this time as we did the first time. The main draw for us is the use of the indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room. We walked over there every morning of our stay and had a swim plus a relax in the jacuzzi and steam room before breakfast. It was just what two busy, hard-working ladies needed. Tescos in Carmarthen was within easy reach for our shopping and we visited Dinefwr Park and Castle National Trust property and on another day had a good walk on the beach at Llansteffan. We also visited relatives while we were in the area and spent time with them. The cottage is very comfortable. The only disappointment about Cwmtwrch is the grounds around the whole complex. It looked very neglected and in need of some TLC. Can't fault the warm welcome we received though, from Emma and Stewart, our hosts. Lovely people! All-in-all a nice break in a nice place."
