"I'm conflicted in this review but want to be totally honest (otherwise what is the point of these reviews...)The cottage location is excellent and we had some stunning walks down to the coast and then along the coastal path (which to the east follows the top of the downs). We also had an excellent dinner at the local pub, enjoyed the Christmas morning church service in the village church and cooked an excellent Christmas dinner in the cottage's well equipped kitchen. In addition the cottage is set back from the road through the village, has good parking and has good access from the garden. So lots of positives. The negatives are few but important. The cottage is like going back in time to your grand parents, its needs new flooring downstairs (the carpets look old, as does the three piece suite). Equally the shower in the bathroom has good pressure but no real mixer & no thermostat, hence the temperature wanders around. The worst thing though are the beds whose mattresses are old and spongy. We started in the main room but I slept poorly because at 6 feet and with a foot rest it was hard to get comfortable. I also woke up with backache - something I never suffer from - presumably because of the spongy mattress. We then moved rooms to the one with two single beds, they were a bit better but we all left the house after 4 days grumpy because the sleep quality was poor. Note that I spend probably a week away per month in hotels around the world so I'm used to different beds, however I really think that sleep quality is important and hence IMO the mattresses all need replacing. To conclude I wouldn't return to this cottage until the above negatives had been resolved."

"The location was absolutely stunning, surrounded by fields, and was so quiet and peaceful. The cottage was exactly as pictured and described on the info provided. It was impeccably clean and had everything that we required. The beds were clean and comfortable. A lot of storage options for clothes etc. Temperature was great especially as the temperature outside was so hot. The host was friendly and approachable. The parking was a little further from the cottage than preferred and had issues with parking one day. The shower pressure was not great but this is common for the area. The cooker was not clean which was a stark difference to the rest of the property. The size of the cups provided were a little on the small side for our taste and no hand towels provided."

"This cottage is superbly kitted out with all modern conveniences to the highest standards. The underfloor heating was good. Luxury having a wet room to both bedrooms and certainly ideal for people with wheelchairs. The bedding and beds were very comfortable. Good supply of towels. It is certainly a dog friendly cottage too, supplying food bowls and the luxury of their own fleeces for when the dog(s) were on the furniture. Something that I have never found in any of the many cottages that I have rented, let alone allowed to sit on the furniture! The cottage has many lovely walks right from the front door. Village shop within a mile. The local pubs have excellent food and service."

"This is a lovely conversion into a self contained section of the School House. It was spotlessly clean, everything had been thought about including a welcome pack of bread milk and butter and a tin of food for the dog. We only met owners on arrival but they said they were available if we needed them. We didn't, it was all perfect. It's in a lovely village setting, however the lanes to the coast are a test, very narrow, very bendy so limited vision and very limited passing places. It was not a problem for me , but my wife hated it and nervous drivers would get very distressed. Countering that the walks close to cottage are great. We had a superb time."

"A lovely little cottage which is ideal for a couple looking for peaceful and ideal countryside walks. Has everything you need from teabags to towels. You even get Netflix and Amazon for your viewing choice, and if you want to watch something that you pay for there's and honesty pot where you just put your money in when you have viewed. The village has a chippy local newsagent and there's even a curry van which I think comes round every Thursday at 5 . It's a very cosy comfortable cottage the bed is so comfy to you may just want to lay in for the morning and watch TV there. I thoroughly recommend this place and we will be back later in the year"
