"Upon arriving at Pen Copi we were so delighted to see that the cottage was set in a large paddock and the front elevation overlooks fantastic uninterrupted views of the snow top mountains and open landscape. The cottage is absolutely beautiful. Good sized rooms which are nice and cosy. Perfect for a family of 4 + 1 dog. Towels and bed linen provided were lovely and clean. Fluffy towels! And the bed linen smelt fresh. I have to say the beds were very comfortable. The open fire was brilliant, the fire was set up for the first night so just needed lighting BUT no matches provided to light it. Luckily the Tesco delivery man was a smoker so we ambushed him. We had a Tesco delivery so we didn’t need to go out shopping for food but the local village does have a Spar. Beautiful walks locally. We liked Hafren Forset the most. Gorgeous waterfalls, streams which form from the River Severn. The few down sides-•No matches provided to light the fire. (Not on arrival)•1 pot on the left hand side of the fire (cast iron). We lifted the lid to see if matches were in side it but no, the putrid smell that hit us in the face from inside the pot was awful. It smelt of stale urine. We had to put the pot outside! •No baking trays provided. However there is 1 roasting tray but with a family of 4 this wasn’t enough. •1 plastic spatula provided, when making pancakes this item was inadequate as it started to melt. A metal spatula would be an added benefit!•Cobwebs - I know it’s a 17th Century cottage but the cobwebs that are in corners above beds and in the the bathroom would be easy to reach with a feather duster. •Bathroom (Downstairs)The paint work needs attention. It’s cracked and peeling in places. Possibly due to lack of ventilation when the shower is used. Maybe benefit from a fan or trickel vent. •Light Bulb- The wall light fitting in the kitchen to the left of the fridge freezer has 1 bulb out. It would have been an added benefit if blankets for the lounge were provided for evenings to make it even more cosy."

"This is an exceptional cottage with real character, the owners clearly have great taste and this is not your standard sterile holiday cottage. A real find for us dog owners who often miss out on the really classy ones! The super king sized bed is amazingly comfortable and massive with great views from the floor to ceiling windows, a treat in itself. The owners live next door but dont fear they will interfere, they are friendly, welcoming and helpful if needed but totally unobtrusive. There is a great pub just down the lane, very welcoming folk infact you are welcomed like a friend, no hostile stares here! Loggerheads country park is 1.5 miles away and lovely strolls in the woodlands and limestone cliffs. Things that may be good to know : Its in secluded location up private lane/track, can be narrow for a larger vehicle & steep-ish in places. The garden is not enclosed. The area is very hilly (stating the obvious here!) meaning all walks from the cottage are steep and you get a lot of weather! Its quite a drive to the coastal areas. Cottage well equipped and great wifi, only thing I didnt find was a hairdryer but I didnt miss it.We had a lovely stay in special cottage."

"Pen copi is absolutelybeautiful and well maintained. Wonderful raural views, quiet and relaxing. Beds are extremely comfortable, the property nice and warm and full of character. There's plenty of essential items in the kitchen etc. When we arrived we were left with a welcome gift from Gareth and Angela of homemade cups cakes, a loaf and a bottle of milk. There's plenty of information left for visitors regarding places to visit and local walks.Very helpful host if you need to ask them a question.Would definately stay again."

"Beautiful cottage in an idyllic location. Warm and cosy with everything you would need for peaceful stay. Kitchen was adequately equipped, however it would benefit from a new more modern cooker and it would also have benefited from the provision of basic condiments, alt, pepper etc. The grounds were large and our dog thoroughly enjoyed running around them! The views are stunning and I would highly recommend this cottage if you wish to get away from it all. My partner and I would certainly love to go back there."

"The cottage was lovely and very clean but was disappointed with the lounge furniture, could do with being upgraded. Was not worried that it didn’t have WiFi but was unhappy that we didn’t have any net work for our mobile phones as you are totally reliant on phones being out so far in the country. I think it should be stated in the Cottage details what net works are available. I was disappointed that there wasn’t any information or maps on local walks from the cottage."
