"This is a great base for people who enjoy simplicity. The cottage is relatively small as you would expect for an old, rural Welsh cottage, but as the children spent all spare time playing in the many secret spots in the garden, it was perfectly adequate. We spent every evening eating outside under the distant mountains. I walked the dog every morning on the hill directly out of the back garden gate, and never tired of the stunning views of Portmerion and Harlech castle. There are all the amenities you need in Porthmadog, 20 minutes in the car, or prefect tranquillity if you'd rather it, at the cottage. There's no tumble drier, but the heated towel rail and sitting cupboard meant we could dry clothes when the weather was too changeable to use the clothes line. We had a brilliant week exploring Snowdonia, biking in Cody Brennin, beaches at Borth y gest , Criccieth, and Blackrock sands, crabbing at Porthmadog, taking the train from Talarnau request stop station to Barmouth for fish and chips. If you love the outdoors, this place is an absolute gem."

"We did not enjoy our stay at this cottage. There was no personal contact from the owner. No welcome tray. The cottage was clean but the over powering smell of air freshener was disgusting and over powering. The smaller room had the worst bed. It was so old and only fit for the dump. So very uncomfortable. As were the pillows. The towels were tiny. The bathroom had a damaged floor and not wise to walk on with bare feet. The toilet seat was ill fitting so you had to be careful how you sat down on it. We could not get hot water even when the emersion heater was on. So had to boil kettle. Did not understand why 2 double beds if there was children's toys. In fact the only toys were large Lego bricks for 18 month old and a very old tatty combination box of games. Several leaflet were out of date and why a whole draw so full of leaflets? Parking was a ha ho! The area was superb and we would definately stay in the area again but find a better cottage."

" I have absolutely NO issues with their service. The cottage itself, wasn’t the best. It was very dated and could do with an update. The cutlery was falling apart. Mainly the sharp knives which were also blunt. There was no instructions for the washing machine which is really old and the writing on it is faded. It could do with cleaner pans etc. The dining table was filthy, as were the place mats. The sofa was also not the best. There were only 3/4 tv channels. But the WiFi was great. The property was cleaner on leaving, as I cleaned it myself. The garden was great for the dog. The double bedroom could do with darker curtains and curtains on the windows with blinds would be better. It’s not a property I would choose to stay in again. But the area, and the location was perfect for everything. "

"The location of this terrace was ideal for our purposes, it being centrally located in the Snowdonia National Park area. The accommodation is situated by the slate quarry and close to the mountain bike and zip wire centre and is a short drive into town. It is possible to walk into town, but there is not a great deal to see or do in Blaenau Ffestiniog and it is a hike back up hill on the A470. By way of feedback points for the owner: the fridge is too small, we were a party of four so required more space for prepared food. Additionally, the electric shower was either scalding hot or too cold. The sofas were a bit tired and not that comfortable. These are minor points and did not affect our stay adversely."

"Whilst the cottage was small it is adequate for two people. The shower was very poor not much pressure at all. The seating wasn’t very comfortable but the bed was very comfy. The welcome pack was lovely and the log burner and wood supplied would be lovely in the winter. We took a very small dog with us and she struggled with the steps down to the back garden as these were quite big. The cottage is surrounded by other cottages which is very deceiving from the photos on the website. The WiFi was very poor and there was no router in the property. We also noticed there were no central heating controls so assuming during the winter this must be controlled from the owners house which is adjoining."
