"We arrived at the gate lodge after a beautiful drive through strathconon glen. The cottage was warm and comfortable with the most beautiful scenery surrounding us. We were aware from when we booked that the water to the property was supplied from the stream, but was surprised with the notices in the cottage saying that it did contain bacteria although you could boil this water we where not going to take this chance with a young child with us. We feel that the information regarding the water supply should be more informative and advise maybe to bring bottle water with you on arrival as you are a very long drive to the nearest shops. On the website it also describes the property as having an over head shower, but again on arrival we found that the property did not contain this. We coped with just baths every morning but this is not suitable if you struggle with mobility. The non shower was an inconvenience especially if you are advised otherwise prior to booking. Apart from those two things we found the cottage suitable and otherwise comfortable. On the whole it is a beautiful location for a property and if you are willing to travel it is well worth a visit."

"Just spent 3 days at this fabulous house with friends to celebrate a 60th Birthday. The house is very spacious, has absolutely everything you would need in the very well equipped kitchen. Lovely big dining table to seat 10 in comfort. The living space is all upstairs with fantastic views to Loch Meig & the mountains. It has a great woodburner and comfortable seating. You can access the balconie from the living area which also has outdoor furniture. Bedrooms and bathrooms are very clean & comfortable with the master bedroom having a very nice sauna. Plenty of wood for the burner is supplied and even without the fire on the house is pleasantly warm. There is ample parking at the property. Strathconon is a place of outstanding beauty a real outdoor enthusiast kind of place. Walks in abundance, hills to climb, lochs to fish and generally a great place to explore. If you are reading this and wondering if you should book just do it !! You most definately won't be disappointed. The owners Iain & Nia Fraser are very helpful and informative helping to make your stay one that you will remember. Would we all go again ..........Absolutely !!"

"A lovely very large cottage that is set in its own grounds in a remote glen. Huge kitchen with a beautiful Aga that cooks perfectly. Lounge with efficient woodturner and lots of firewood. Bedrooms well sized with good beds. Bathrooms are clean and bright albeit only showers above the bath which is a pest for me. Pay phone in the lounge that takes incoming calls because unless you have a satellite phone you will get nothing in the house or nearby area as it is placed deep into a dead end glen. No wifi was a pest, we are all used to connection to the larger world and when its taken away you miss it. satellite TV worked very well but even a portable radio struggles to get a signal here. Views and wildlife were spectacular and a burn flows nearby so you have the sound of running water. Access is easy but its a l,ing long way to shops and a pub so stock up well. Staff from the estate were friendly and very knowledgable which was a welcome change from some places I have visited. In short this is a great place for a group of friends or family to enjoy a real isolated quiet time together."

"12 serene miles (30 minute drive) down a single track road, within a quiet working complex of 3 houses and the old estate stables, overlooking hills and glens, if you are looking for a quiet get-away-from-it-all holiday, this is the ideal place. The house is small, even for 4 people (there are 3 seats in the living room) but extremely comfortable and well appointed. The kitchen has pleanty of utensils, a comfortable dining area and there is a large stock of wood for the fire PLUS central heating. The bathroom is on the ground floor and the staircase somewhat narrow and winding so for Seniors and children the location is not ideal and care is required. But for us - 2 people and a dog - it was an ideal holiday spot. On the subject of dogs, all of the estate dogs are very well trained and there are deer and sheep in abundance, so this is not a place for a runaround Town Hound unless you are prepared to keep it tethered. Sept 2011."

"Cottage was clean, spacious and cosy at the same time, there were lots of lovely personal touches eg. DVD's, great informative books on Scotland, walking maps etc.It provided us with a great base to explore this beautiful part of the world. Although it didn't affect our holiday at all, the Wifi was very poor, although I believe the owner is currently in the process of switching to a different provider, so hopefully that will improve. Also, I wasn't very keen on the ensuite bathroom, I personally would get rid of the shower, put in a large sink with lots of shelves for toiletries etc and put a proper door on it. It felt very much like a commode in the corner of the bedroom! It's not a complaint, the other two bathrooms worked very well for our family's needs, it's just a suggestion. We would definitely stay at this cottage again."
