"If you have young grandsons to entertain during the school holiday for Half Term, and have to make sure they are not bored, you might not think a holiday cottage in a Norfolk Village would be the thing to do, especially when you take into account that they come from a village in Suffolk!! We found it very comfortable, and for some reason, the boys liked to keep their room tidy??The cottage was lovely and clean and welcoming, as were the Owners, and couldn't do enough for us. We went for local walks and saw cattle and Llamas, and all kinds of wildlife. We drove for days out to Alderburgh, and all seaside places within an hours drive, like Southwold, and Gt Yarmouth to see the magnificent Sea Life Centre which was well worth a visit, and kept the boys amused, together with all the fish and chips and lovely fresh sea food wherever we went, plus we bought some and took it back for tea, with bread all fresh from the little shop in an adjoining village on the way home. There is no light pollution at the cottage at night, and the sound of the owl as I stood outside the back door and looked up at the stars one night was lovely. The stars were so beautiful, you could see the Milky Way, and the whole time spent there which I think was Sunday night to Thurs night of Half Term was so relaxing , even with young men who were never bored at any point. They had to be home by Friday as it was Halloween, and they were going to a Party, so we dropped them off, and, as I listened to them talking to their parents, who seemed a lot more relaxed for having had some time to themselves, and hearing them recount all they had done, and showing off photos they had taken, plus seeing them laugh and laugh at the tricks they played on their granddad, I realised it had been more fun for them than I had anticipated it would have been when I booked it. We live 2 hours drive away from them, and so, it was a pleasure to have them all to ourselves, and the cottage had a great deal to do with that. It provided for all our needs. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone, old, young, whatever your needs, if you want a nice relaxing stay, in peace and quiet with lots of fresh air, and sea air only a drive away, go and stay there. My only gripe was that the satnav took us home a few times the "country roads way ", until we got our bearings and took a more direct route, but that is the problem of the satnav, not the cottage."

"Although we expected the main barn to be a little dusty and have some cobwebs etc we did not expect the newer parts of the accommodation to be as dirty as they were. The kitchen, bathrooms and hallway could do with a deep cleanse or total updating. The cooker needs to be replaced and the dishwasher was not used by us as it still had remnants of the previous renters dinner in the bottom of it. Also it would have been nice to know that on occasion you will share the barn with a bat or two, we wondered what was flying around our heads and low and behold they were bats which eventually disappeared up in to the eaves by the fire flue, good job they don’t worry us but they may do others.Best part is the holiday was the lovely walks and for dinner out please do not miss “The Inn On The Green “, fantastic food and hosts."

"Everything was clean and up to date, the decor was nice and a lot of effort had gone into making the small space welcoming. The host's welcome was warm and the hamper much appreciated. Our problem was that the double bed was very small and not comfortable for us so we didn't sleep well. The twin room beds were ok for our kids. The only other criticism was that there were not proper curtains or blinds, just daylight blinds as you have in an office, so in the fine summer weather it was light about 5am and we woke early. I don't think it would be cosy in the winter. It was fine for a short break but a bit cramped for longer or in bad weather. We enjoyed sunshine and our boys loved the games room and having a BBQ. It was convenient for visiting local tourist attractions and less than an hour from the coast."

"The lodge is well appointed and the owners very friendly. The location (entrance) can be quite dangerous as there are no footpaths on either side of the road ie. children/dogs/disabled. The ent. is on a sharp bend with bad visibility. The lodge is well equipped and the bedrooms are comfortable. Car Parking is adjacent. Access is level.nb. Our holiday was over the Christmas vacation. The lodge was very damp and the tiled floor in the lounge and kitchen area was 'swimming' with standing water. We tried to remedy this with sheets of newspaper, which did help however, the water returned on our exit. We did not report this to the owner as we do not intend to stay at Owl Lodge in the future."

"Garden Cottage is a little Gem. We selected this property after looking at other Cottage and accommodation sites. It was our choice for location as it is very close to the Park and Ride, the City and to our son's house. The amenities and the layout were completely ideal for us. As well as everything that we have marked "excellent" the added bonus is Sue, the owner. She was welcoming, friendly but not intrusive and made us feel very much at home. The 'welcome pack' she left out for us was most welcome and of excellent quality. We would love to stay here again when we come up from deepest darkest Devon to visit our son. Highly Recommended. Thank you Sue."
