"There were three of us in the party including a 86 year old plus our dog. The website did not mention that the railway backed on to the property and trains ran from early morning to late evening and were very noisy. The 'lodge' and the immediate area around it was run down and a lot could have been done to improve it. All the windows were dirty including the frames inside and out. Although the kitchen had equipment very little of it matched..the cutlery was a lot to be desired and only two teaspoons. The double bed was very small with a very thin mattress...the mats in the twin room slipped and were positively dangerous..the whole lodge was dusty including the bedside lamps.beside the sofa in the lounge has clearly not been swept in months and neither had the side of the shower. Our biggest problem was the toilet which would not flush properly. One of our party helped Harry the owner for a few hours to try and clear the blockage. He left the plunger rod with us. When we informed him it was still not flushing away he said he would sort it when we had gone! leaving us to rod the toilet every time we used it. I had a bout of sickness and diarrhoea which is something I very rarely get so not pleasant for anybody and I believe caused by us having to rod a dirty toilet. The door between the bedroom and lounge doesn't shut without force..the kitchen window has a sign saying do not open because it is broken..one of the kitchen cupboard door didn't open..the oven was dirty. When we arrived we were told the battery in the remote needed replacing so we would need to do it manually..all in all very disappointed..this is not up to the standard it should be...and as a minor point the garden is not enclosed as stated and there is a sign asking you to not exercise your dog in the garden so not dog friendly really.."

"Beautiful barn conversion, quiet location, we had a lovely starter pack left for us, the bedrooms were generally comfortable and pleasant, and we had a lovely holiday, BUT...1. The kitchen was poorly equipped for a property of its size, for example only one serving spoon but a very large range of baking trays and tins -including a loaf tin, but no scales so I couldn’t have made a loaf had I wanted to!2. The dishwasher worked so poorly that most items had to be re-washed by hand - hardly in line with the property’s status as ‘luxury’3. The master bedroom was actually a mezzanine open to the downstairs living area so very noisy. It also had only one window which opened to the outside (in the bathroom), the others being internal, so the bedroom was stiflingly hot. 4. The door to the twin room would not shut so the occupants found that also to be an issue, both of noise and lack of privacy.5. There were at least five or six flies in the kitchen alone at most times, as well as elsewhere in the property. We had to purchase fly spray and fly papers to try and control them, it would have been nice if these had been supplied. We did have a good holiday but the property was listed and priced as luxury and rather fell short in that respect."

"Will give as much detail as possible.Reason for bad review: cleanliness utterly disgusted the surface was clean but nothing beyond that, all shelving thick with dust, cobwebs everywhere, grease so thick on cooker fan etc wouldn't use, nothing ever moved to clean. Glass thick with smears and dirt finger marks. Shower never worked blocked called number in book no response, text no response, and was tiny if ur over 5ft 4 you would struggle to move at all. Bath was not sufficient due to being disabled not easy at all, tiles were dangerous uneven and not grouted or level, dirt under the bath was disgusting.Bedrooms height of summer no fans, no and all with 13.5 tog quilts! NO HAIRDRYER (shocking) But we're a nice size, yet were not cleaned fireplace was thick with dust beds underneath dead moths etc.Garden very small big gap underneath gate lots of dead plant pots that could do with skipping and old fence and bricks lying around.Windows where filthy carpet was terrible on the stairs, overall musty smell.I don't expect much when I go away just clean is my main concern and what I've paid for to work! Good points:Easy parking, mattresses were okay, location perfect for Norwich Yarmouth etc lovely food locally at railway Inn."

"The photos of the property on the website really do not do this amazing property justice. They don’t really give a sense of the sheer size and grandeur. The building has been sympathetically converted and retains a property sense of its history and beauty. The owners make a huge effort to ensure all instructions for facilities are clearly written and they’re handy lamented info sheets everywhere. Super handy. Lots of extra bedding and towels if needed. Brilliant power shower that is hard to tear yourself away from. The kitchen is well stocked with gadgets and all you may possibly need. All the beds were very comfortable. The best thing about this property though is the sheer size. Even with eight people we had plenty of space and never felt on top of each other. Pease consider this place if you are looking for a special unique place to stay. A car is essential though as the facilities in the village are limited - food shopping etc. Having our own keys to the castle was a treat. We will definitely return again. Can’t recommend this place enough!!!!"

"Had a wonderful week. Cottage was warm and spotless with comfortable beds and chairs. Enough space to spare for the 3 of us with a toddler who likes to explore. Owner flagged us down on arrival as it was late evening and may be hard to spot in the dark which was much appreciated! Jack the dog is lovely and friendly and we enjoyed seeing the cows and geese and a horse further down the lane. Ideal distance to amenities and we were lucky with the weather. Hosts were lovely and polite and provided us with tea coffee sugar milk and homemade lemon cake which was delicious! We arranged for our food delivery to be sent to the cottage the day after we arrived which was ideal with a young child. We visited the miniature railway museum, wroxham barns and went shopping in Norwich town. We also visited friends in lowestoft and had a nice time. Would definitely stay again!"
