"Yew Trees is in an excellent location allowing you to walk into Winderemere and Bowness or enjoy country walks from the door. The property has a great layout with very comfortable settees and comfortable beds and an excellent on-suite shower room although I cannot say the same about the over bath shower. Thank you for the bottle of fizz which was so good I went and bought another bottle. During our stay there was a short power cut in the evening and when we went to look for the torch we found it was missing. Also found that the knives in the kitchen were so bad that they were almost dangerous to us when attempting to cut an onion. I noted in the visitors book that someone had mentioned this back in April. The equipment and layout of the kitchen was excellent but extractor fan could do with cleaning/replacing. I found that the front on the top left drawer on the chest of drawers in the twin room pulled off because it hadn't been glued on. I also noted that the light when entering the basement/Garage area was very poor at illuminating the room an as this is down a couple of steps I would suggest that it is replaced with a different bulb. On entering the property at the front door we noted that there were no coat hooks in the hallway but there were some useful seats available to sit and pull footwear on. This is a good property in an excellent location which could be made great with a few tweaks such as loosing the piano and replacing it with a bookcase or other useful piece of furniture. I would also consider turning the bathroom into another shower room but I realise some visitors particularly those the children may want a bath. The exterior of the property and grounds could do with some TLC which would also make it more attractive and safe to use. It may also encourage visitors to use the rear door into the basement/garage to bring in muddy/wet equipment where I noted there were door hooks and drying racks. On another note I would recommend the Prince of India in Winderemere if you are looking a takeaway."

"An excellent location - we split our week between visits to the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District and loved everything on offer, especially the White Scar Cave tour and the beautiful Waterfall Walk. The actual apartment was lovely and very spacious for us (2 adults & 2 kids, 14+12). The only downside was that the shower was absolutely awful. Not enough pressure, so at best was a trickle of water - hair rinsing was a challenge! Also, a vacuum cleaner would have been useful just to keep the living area clean and tidy. The pool below the apartment would've been handy, however we discovered parents had to be in the pool with their child at all times (frustrating none of the blurb said that before we booked) - There was an understanding manager who allowed me to sit on the window ledge & supervise, as I'd not taken swimwear myself, however there was also a less understanding manager insistent on me going in, so ultimately that put paid to that! Ingleton's heated outdoor pool was fab for the kids though as an alternative. All in all though a nice apartment in a fab location. It's a shame about the shower & it's that alone, which puts us off coming again."

"Beautiful situation just below Wansfell. Amazing amount of wildlife came to the back garden after we filled the bird feeders woodpecker, nuthatch, bullfinch and Jay amongst the many visitors. Two beautiful grey squirrels came and fed regularly and two country rats? made there way every day to feed amongst the birds on the ground. They seemed to be quite happy on the ground with all the small birds. They seemed to be living outside the garden because we watched them disappear over the back. One day we were going out and opened the front door to see a doe gazing in at us then she just calmly walked away over the next garden. Hill up to bungalow was quite steep especially carrying shopping. Only downside was when we arrived the oven door was hanging off and we went into Windermere on Sunday but letting office was closed so had to go back the next day. they rectified the ovendoor very quickly, it was repaired when we returned to bungalow along with a pair of oven gloves which had been missing. Could have been cleaner. Weather was quite wet and it was nice to return to a warm bolthole."

"Spent an excellent week at The Loft, the children (8 and 5), especially loved it. From the moment we arrived we felt like it was a home away from home. The apartment was really well appointed and surprisingly spacious with lots of room for storage. The lounge/kitchen was very convenient and comfortable. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were also very comfortable. There are lots of windows so everywhere feels very light and the balcony was an added bonus. We made excellent use of the pool and gym which was really well organised and just next door (perfect on those days when the weather wasn’t on our side). I especially liked the heated floor in the changing rooms. The location is perfect for visiting all the great places the local area has to offer, being really close to Kirkby Lonsdale and Ingleton. Booths supermarket is only a short drive away so no problem picking up supplies either.I would highly recommend The Loft, it was clean, comfortable and convenient, everything we needed."

"I loved staying at Beega Apartment - it's perfect for being in the centre of Bowness and so able to get to most of the Lake District (I used the buses). There is a bit of noise in the evening but I didn't find it disturbed me too much - I can imagine it would be more annoying if it was really warm and you wanted the windows opened. The noise was worst at weekends but even then it didn't stop me from sleeping. The apartment was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. I enjoyed being able to use Freeview on both televisions as well. The heating was very effective when I did use it. I could have perhaps used a clothes horse to dry the clothes I washed while I was there but this is a very minor point. I would happily go back to Beega Apartment and would recommend to any solo traveller or couple."
