"We have just come back from spending a very relaxing week on Clachan Seil at the willowburn cottages, the surrounding scenery and views are beautiful and it is soooo quiet, if it’s peace and quiet you want there’s nowhere better. The cottage is very nice and comfortable, clean and fresh with all mod cons, the only downside I could see there was that if you went in the colder months you might not be warm enough in the downstairs area of the house as there is only one electric panel heater heating the living area which is open plan to the kitchen. The owners are very nice and don’t bother you but are near by if you need them. There is a lovely old pub just a 5 minute walk away in one direction and a shop about 2 miles away in the other direction. We would definitely go back again."

"Having stayed on the Solway coast before we knew what the area had to offer, we expected a pleasant stay without any problems what-so-ever. Cottage is nice but nothing special, didn’t feel homely as nothing was comfortable (beds/sofas). Felt tired and a few places needed TLC, both kettles provided were full of limescale and not useable, also a number of plug sockets were broken and hoover plug was broken. For guests that are not dog owners I wouldn’t recommend as dog hair is visible throughout the property - even found it all over the duvet in the master bedroom as if a big black dog had been sleeping on the bed!Although the property did not meet our expectations it won’t be our last visit to the slowly coast."

"Positives cosy cottage, well equipped kitchen, The Ship restaurant down the street . Negatives - The secure storage mentioned in the description is a rickety shed, with a broken window and full of junk. We were not confident about putting our £800 bikes in it and consequently we had to keep them in cottage all week. If you are not taking bikes this wont be an issue. The DVD player didn't work which was disappointing because we usually bring our own DVDs to watch in the evening. We found the couch uncomfortable. The panel next to the under sink cupboard kept dropping off - my husband fixed using toolbox."

"I stayed at Kirkton Cottage for a month and found it was like a home away from home! It's in a beautiful, quiet location with amazing views out the living room window. It has a couple of local shops, a cafe, and restaurant within walking distance with an easy train journey into Oban. The cottage itself is lovely and has all the little things that you wouldn't think to ask for! Rosalyn and Frank were very kind and helpful - it was so nice to know someone was round the corner if you needed anything.Really looking forward to coming back to the area and would definitely look to stay here again."

"Loch Ard is an attractive spacious cottage in a lovely quiet rural setting. Great walks are nearby and our dogs enjoyed exploring the area too. The cottage is clean and comfortable and the owners providing games for the children was a nice touch. We enjoyed the enclosed and wild back garden with lots of wildlife. Unfortunately the weather was mixed and the only thing we really missed was a tumble dryer as we struggled to dry the washing. A lovely cottage in a beautiful village- we would also recommend the Sorn inn just along the road which provides great food."
