"The cottage was just the job for two people. Comfortable, reasonably equipped and roomy enough. The place was spotless and the mattress was firm which suited us. The shower was adequate but was tricky to get right and not very powerful. The hotel it is attached to was quite old fashioned which you will either like or not. We didn’t eat there so cannot comment on the food. The surrounding grounds were lovely. The location is quite a bit out of Falmouth but a taxi is less than a tenner and there is a bus 5 minutes walk away. Also 15 minutes away is a great pub. Good food, busy and very friendly. A shop too so what more do you need? This is a good place and I recommend it. If you’re into dogs you can bring them. If you’re not then the slight doggy smell might be slightly off putting. But it went over a couple of days (or we got used to it) so not a show stopper. The price is ok. You get what you pay for and I’d happily repeat the experience. We had a lovely time. Hope this review helps."

"We have visited Cornwall many times over the years and found Lavender Cottage to be by far the best cottage we have stayed in. A warm welcome by Jayne with a scrumptious tea and cake upon arrival.; the perfect start to a holiday. Perfectly equipped for cosy days in with the log burner and an ideal location for visiting the many beautiful gardens and beaches Cornwall has to offer. The newly installed over bath shower was wonderful and a great addition to the cottage. The lavender pillow spray and comfortable beds ensured we were fresh and ready for the day. We were delighted to discover the broadband was faster than at home we even managed to get our shopping delivered. A real hidden gem we will definitely be returning and highly recommend Lavender Cottage to others."

"The house was a good size and spacious for7 adults and and a toddler. Each bedroom had an ensuite and good wardrobe space and draws. The curtains in the main bedroom were very creased and the bedding in all the rooms could be improved as it was very dated.Good size dining table but some chairs well used and clicked. The garage and the hut at the back had old curtains and sheets hung up at the windows and looked scruffy. The garden at back is a good size and nice dining table and chairs. There are some nice sun loungers but needed a good clean and one was broken. The garden had lots of nice pots in but they were all full of weeds which spoilt it.Lovely touch of cream tea left for us."

"We were abit disappointed after being told the Carlyon Bay beach was dog friendly all year to find out that it isn't from Easter to October this was the only reason we booked this property for beach location. I had also been informed there was a hair dryer so didn't take my own to save space but i couldnt find one so called the agents and it was all arranged very quickly and had a hair dryer brought to us first thing the following day 5 star service. Also found the mattress on the hard side.Otherwise it was a lovely stay with a beautiful beach and sea and great coast path walks to Charles town and duporth. The lost gardens of heligan and pinetum gardens are worth a visit."

"Lovely stay at Blue Skies - decor a quirky but stylish mix of period detail and more modern pieces. Kitchen very well equipped - not that we ate in much with foodie heaven Falmouth on the doorstep! Only thing missing was a toaster - even cake baking equipment was provided should the need arise! Bedroom, living room (sofa bed if sleeping 4) and dining room cosy and comfy. Would say take warm slippers and dressing gown if staying in Autumn/Winter as bathroom was a little chilly at night. Only 10 minute walk from town/harbour but hills back quite steep - helped us walk off big dinners! Also 10-15 minutes walk from lovely Gyllyngvase beach. Would definitely visit again."
