"We had an very nice stay at the Old Forge. There were a couple of minor maintenance issues (broken oven door handle, several blown bulbs and a non functional radiator in the main bedroom). The two bedrooms that adjoin the road next to the pub are not well insulated from the cold or sound so we found it nippy at night (we stayed in late October) and woke a few times around midnight as people left the pub. However, with the log fire lit, the house was very cosy and it was a great base for exploring the area. We visited Charmouth, Abbotsbury, Weymouth, Portland, Dorchester, Lulworth, Corfe, Studland and Swanage without much trouble or traffic problems. There are plenty of nice walks from the property and we never had a problem with parking. Overall, we were happy with our choice to stay here and would probably stay again. A few little issues, but good value for money."

"This house and the one next door are fantastic luxury family holiday homes if you are looking to stay in Swanage. I have stayed in both on several occasions. My family calls them ’Upsidedown House’ due to the bedrooms being downstairs and the living areas on the first floor with the amazing view over the bay. The house is very well equipped and spacious and it has always been immaculately clean when I have been there. The upstairs deck with the fantastic view is a real highlight as is the full size table tennis and table football tables in the garage/games room (useful when the weather isn’t so great). It’s a 3 minute walk into Swanage town and a few minutes more to the beach, although the walk back up the steep hill is a bit more effort. Overall this is a brilliant place to stay in Swanage, you won’t be disappointed. March 2012."

"This property is in a beautiful Purbeck village but is in desperate need of attention. Everything is tired and worn out and the place could do with a bit of tlc. The en-suite shower has no working temp control and the water eventually comes through scolding. The shower in the main bathroom needs the drain clearing since after just a couple of minutes the tray fills with water. The oven desperately needs replacing. The tv is so small and far away from the sofa area you need binoculars to see it. WiFi only works in front bedroom. Washing machine has a note on it asking to press buttons gently. Tumble dryer is so noisy. It’s such a shame but I do expect higher standards from holiday rentals."

"We had a thoroughly relaxing holiday at Uncle Bobs . It seemed almost home from home , with very comfortable Beds and sitting room furniture . Everything had been thought of to make the stay as perfect as possible .It was a good location for enjoying the Isle of Purbeck , as well as being in walking distance to the Shop's and Beach at Swanage . We enjoyed the account of Uncle Bob's life , it gave a great insight into the history of the bungalow and the peace within . Sitting in the garden listening to the Steam trains working their way up to Helston Halt brought back very nostalgic memories too ."

"I have rented this property or its next door neighbour for the past few years. I take my family and we also hire a beach hut for the week. The property is really a home from home with good kitchen equipment, a barbecue and even broadband! this comes in useful for my grandchildren with their ever present laptops. Its only a few minutes walk down to the beach and shops, although the climb back is rather steep, its all good for the figure! This is one of the best houses I’ve ever rented. July 2011."
