"Upon arriving at Pen Copi we were so delighted to see that the cottage was set in a large paddock and the front elevation overlooks fantastic uninterrupted views of the snow top mountains and open landscape. The cottage is absolutely beautiful. Good sized rooms which are nice and cosy. Perfect for a family of 4 + 1 dog. Towels and bed linen provided were lovely and clean. Fluffy towels! And the bed linen smelt fresh. I have to say the beds were very comfortable. The open fire was brilliant, the fire was set up for the first night so just needed lighting BUT no matches provided to light it. Luckily the Tesco delivery man was a smoker so we ambushed him. We had a Tesco delivery so we didn’t need to go out shopping for food but the local village does have a Spar. Beautiful walks locally. We liked Hafren Forset the most. Gorgeous waterfalls, streams which form from the River Severn. The few down sides-•No matches provided to light the fire. (Not on arrival)•1 pot on the left hand side of the fire (cast iron). We lifted the lid to see if matches were in side it but no, the putrid smell that hit us in the face from inside the pot was awful. It smelt of stale urine. We had to put the pot outside! •No baking trays provided. However there is 1 roasting tray but with a family of 4 this wasn’t enough. •1 plastic spatula provided, when making pancakes this item was inadequate as it started to melt. A metal spatula would be an added benefit!•Cobwebs - I know it’s a 17th Century cottage but the cobwebs that are in corners above beds and in the the bathroom would be easy to reach with a feather duster. •Bathroom (Downstairs)The paint work needs attention. It’s cracked and peeling in places. Possibly due to lack of ventilation when the shower is used. Maybe benefit from a fan or trickel vent. •Light Bulb- The wall light fitting in the kitchen to the left of the fridge freezer has 1 bulb out. It would have been an added benefit if blankets for the lounge were provided for evenings to make it even more cosy."

"The cottage was very well presented. Immediate impressions and sustained for our stay was we were pleased. We were able to completely relax, having time to enjoy the garden in the sunshine was a welcome advantage allowing us to plan our days activity over a coffee. We had not stayed in Mid-Wales and the location of the cottage allowed us to visit the area. We did use the car a great deal to get the benefit of sampling and visiting the different locations. Glyn and Barbara were both friendly and where there if required and we found them helpful and caring, helping us to enjoy our holiday. The local public house is only a short walk and we had a meal there one evening which we both enjoyed. A short drive away was another even better pub-restaurant, The Loin. we followed Glyn and Barbara suggestion and we visited it. We were not disappointed and had a good quality meal and enjoyable evening. A part of our holiday was to see the area and to get some good walking. There was a stunning walk starting from the cottage which did not realise had a beautiful included some rolling countryside sections. Unfortunately we did realise this until the latter part of our stay. We completed the walk which does involve some going up, but is in small sections and the reward is the beautiful views at different stages both of the countryside and the wildlife. We discussed the walk with Barbara and Glyn and suggested it would likely be very beneficial to include some information of local walks and certainly the one we did which Barbara and Glyn also do with their dog. They both agreed this was a good idea and would follow up. In summary we had a highly enjoyable week in a lovely cottage and will be telling our friends."

"Beautiful cottage in an idyllic location. Warm and cosy with everything you would need for peaceful stay. Kitchen was adequately equipped, however it would benefit from a new more modern cooker and it would also have benefited from the provision of basic condiments, alt, pepper etc. The grounds were large and our dog thoroughly enjoyed running around them! The views are stunning and I would highly recommend this cottage if you wish to get away from it all. My partner and I would certainly love to go back there."

"Berwyn Cottage was absolutely immaculate; beautiful décor, furnished to a high standard, extremely clean, and well equipped. A lot of attention to detail - we arrived to find tea/coffee, milk in the fridge and a loaf of fresh bread! The Cottage has a fantastic balcony space with an amazing view! Set in a beautiful location, it acts as a perfect base for visiting the surrounding waterfalls/mountains/castles/lakes and beaches. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit again."
