"A truly wonderful barn conversion in a breathtakingly beautiful location. The property is located near to the small village of Penmachno in the heart of Snowdonia with all that it has to offer in easy reach. We travelled with our 2 dogs and were made to feel very welcome. There are an abundance of trails and footpaths on your doorstep and on a couple of occasions we didn't even need to use the car to enjoy all that the area has to offer. The owners were charming and completely unobtrusive, but ready and willing to help if you needed any advice on the local are or amenities. The cottage was incredibly well equipped and I can honestly say this was one occasion where we didn't ever say "wouldn't it be nice if it had...". There were even flutes for the champagne we brought with us!The barn conversion has many original features including evidence of the original beams, an open plan living and dining area with a magnificent fire place and wood burning stove as the focal point. This really does throw out the heat! The bedroom is off to the right of the entrance hall and again is spacious and has a super comfortable bed. It was so quiet and dark we had some of the best sleep in a long time and the entire property was spotlessly clean.Worth going outside at night just to gaze up at the stars, so little light pollution you get a spectacular view of the night sky.We had a truly wonderful week away and if you are a couple with or without pets, this is an absolute gem of a place in an enviable location."

" We stayed in the cottage with our daughter and family making 4 adults and 3 children. The cottage itself has its old world charm in a remote location. To have this peace does not come without its problems. Although there is running water what is not mentioned is that this comes from a Bore Hole feeding a tank which ran dry on our second day. This happened again later in the week. When it happened on the Saturday it looked like we were going to have to wait until Monday to have it resolved. Menai Holidays were not able or did not want to help us by relocation to another property or Hotel. The water issue was resolved on the Saturday afternoon when some one arrived to reset the system. This then negated moving to another property. We were told that we should spread the use of water through out the day and be mindful about the use of water, to help prevent the system running dry. This is not what we expected when everyone wants to have a shower etc in the morning ready to go out for the day and this is not mentioned when you book the property. The second problem is the 2 mile drive along a single track road which is mentioned by Menai Holidays, what is not mentioned is that the track and verges are unkept, as you drive down the track you will find that your car is being scraped on both sides by the vegetation in places, which as we have a new car I am very annoyed about. "We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The property was very clean and comfortable with a games room downstairs which was great for young people. Whilst the kitchen was well equipped, there was limited space in the bedrooms to put your clothes and belongings. We only stayed for one week - so we managed, but with more luggage it would have been difficult. Also there was no internet or mobile phone cover so we could not receive a message for an emergency that happened at home, we didn't pick up the mobile message until we reached the nearest town 5 miles away. Internet is the way forward, so next time we will definitely think about it when booking another property. However, we loved the outlook it was really beautiful. The current owner was friendly and very helpful."

"This location and cottage was as close to paradise as I thought we could get in the UK. From the minute we arrived, a feeling of calm and relaxation overcome us. We had very mixed weather but even in the pouring rain it was a blissful location. Peter and Elizabeth could not have been better hosts and we fell in love with the property and, more so, the perfect location. Our two dogs, Treacle and Rosie, loved it also. I have travelled the world but rarely been sadder to leave a location as I was this one. This was undoubtedly one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in the UK and we would certainly be looking at staying there again."

"First of all what a fabulous little house in a stunning location. The house was cozy and clean and the views from all the windows were stunning. The major drawback of this property is that the electricity is supplied by petrol generator, which is a little inconvenient as you have to power it up every time you want some electricity and down when you don't. Which to be honest was not too inconvenient but having to constantly have runs out to the local petrol station to fill up cans of petrol for it was and it became expensive too! Overall a really great place to stay, if not expensive on the extra for petrol for the generator."
