"The first impression is "wow" the Granary has been lovingly converted, preserving many historical features in a modern comfortable living area. There is nothing much in the village other than a pub which is really more an Italian restaurant than a country pub. We tried it once and found it overpriced for the quality. This was not a problem as we had picked the venue for peace and quiet and were happy stay in during the late afternoon and evenings. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was spoilt by the traffic going past the front of the Granary from 5 in the morning onwards, obviously a commuter short cut, which was only a couple of yards away from the head of the bed and the sound proofing was very poor. This was also true at the back of the property which adjoined the actual mill where the owners lived. At times we could hear them going up and down the stairs and using the toilet, as loudly as though it were in the same room as us. They also run their own outdoor catering business from their home and the smell of cooking was quite obtrusive. I would definitely not recommend the place if you are vegetarian!"

"A very comfortable, newly refurbished and stylishly kitted out holiday home;lots of lovely touches like a welcome basket of food items on arrival, and a small patio with a table for two to sit out and enjoy the garden in warm weather. The photos don't really do it justice! No wi fi/internet connection, and mobile network is poor, which means going out to make phone calls, and no incoming calls either. But that could be great for a break from being hectic with appliances as most of us are these days. There is limited storage space in the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom-hopefully that will be developed by the owners who live in the house opposite the property, and are delightful, also very aware of guests' privacy. The lovely thing about the location is that it is in a very quiet natural spot and there are so many walks to do from the property itself without needing to drive anywhere.Highly recommended."

"A beautifully appointed cottage, very well laid out with quality fixtures, furniture and equipment. Plenty of room to store 2 large suitcases, a lot of thought has gone into the comfort of the guests- power points close by to be able to see in the mirror using a hairdryer/straightener, well equipped kitchen with quality cook wear/tablewear, great shower, storage for food in the kitchen and plenty of room in the wardrobe to put out toiletries and store clothes. We loved our stay at this cottage, I think it will be the favourite of our trip. Staying at this cottage also gives you easy access to many tourist attractions/National Trust properties nearby, also the Oxford park and ride. Excellent local supermarket and village pub.The owners very friendly and helpful. A beautifully laid out afternoon tea ready for our arrival.Would thoroughly recommend this property."

"An excellent place to stay, and the welcome basket is exceptional - makes you feel exactly that, welcome. The house has been very well converted, given its size, so that you don't feel cramped at all. The single sofa is a bit restricting for two, although it is hard to see how you could have anything bigger. The balcony is a super idea, and works really well. The house is well equipped with everything you could want (except lids for the pans, which we mentioned) and perhaps some more thought could be given to window coverings, as you can feel a little exposed. These are quibbles however, it is a very well designed and managed cottage.Personally I would have liked to have Wi-Fi (especially as we had no phone signal) but I do realise that not everyone will feel the same. We had a very enjoyable week, in a very nice village."

"This is a beautiful studio space with a lot of loving attention to detail. The result is impressive. A stunning seating and dining space. Small points well covered (e.g. umbrellas, torches, candles, excellent lighting). We had a warm welcome; the owners were responsive to requests, and friendly. We enjoyed the comfortable bedroom and cosy bathroom. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped. We did wonder whether supplies could have been a little more amply provided: glasses, cutlery and crockery; washing and dishwasher tablets etc. (i.e. more than the minimum of two, for instance). Instructions for working the oven were a little opaque. However, such points should not detract from the generally overall positive impression."
