"What an amazing cottage. Firstly, we were apprehensive about the owners living next door, this was not a problem. On occasions where we did see them, they were polite, friendly and a very lovely family. The cottage was extremely clean and the perfect size for 4 adults. We were greeted with fresh scones, cream and jam, fresh eggs and some doggy treats for our Frankie; they were beautiful and we enjoyed them very much, thank you! We did walk along the canal (my partner doing a spot of fishing) to the local pub, The Boat and Anchor. Dogs are allowed in the beer garden and if they are well behaved, they are allowed inside. We only had drinks and snacks, so can't comment on the quality of food. The Cottage is beautifully decorated with some quirky, home like finishes; it definitely felt like a home from home. We enjoyed sitting outside in both gardens, one being completely private which was great for our dog. My only recommendation is that, if you are going to the Tow-Path Cottage in the summer months and you know the weather is going to be hot; take a fan as the upstairs can get quite hot. We had a wonderful stay and will be revisiting. Thank you for a wonderful stay Tow-Path Cottage!"

"I hate giving a bad review but needs must. We were expecting a pub/shop/restaurant in a mile - there wasn't. The nearest by car was on a camp site, and that was a lot further than a mile, and OK if you like that kind of atmosphere (which we don't). There may be a pub over the fields but I wouldn't like to walk back in the dark! As a whole the cottage is quite clean but under the settees there is weeks of dust and even some broken glass. The bedside table lamps need either a good clean or even replacing (I think they have seen better days). On a plus side Ray and Caroline are very nice hosts. Ray even offered to take us to the pub so that we could both have a drink. We do like a BBQ and sometimes the one for use is dirty - this one was in a nice condition and he even left us a bag of coals. Wi-fi is an issue but I don't think the description mentions that it has it."

"The Snug is a very cosy yet modern cottage set in the Somerset countryside. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the welcome pack that was provided.Though it’s small, it’s perfectly sized for two.The location is actively used for farming like much of Somerset, and there are cows very nearby that tend to moo in the mornings - we thought this was great though. The only amenity within walking distance is the local pub, Ring O Bells, with shops accessible within a 10 min drive. For us though, this is ideal as we wanted a quiet getaway.Worth noting that Cheddar, Wookey Hole, Wells, Glastonbury and Clark’s shopping village are nearby and are great visits. The only note for the owners would be that the fridge does make some strange noises sometimes (we thought it was the cows!).Thank you again for a great stay, we will likely be visiting again next year."

"Situated in a beautiful, idyllic and peaceful location, The Lodge is absolutely a home away from home. It is clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our break away. A lovely enclosed garden was perfect for our dog on his first holiday. The kitchen diner is huge and has all that we needed. The living room was lovely and comfy, as were the bedrooms. The bathroom has plenty of space, the only improvement I would suggest would be a more powerful shower (although the one installed is lovely and warm). Clare met us on arrival with a warm and friendly welcome, suggesting possible places to visit and told us to get in touch should we have any issues.......we didn't. The Lodge is ideally situated for visiting the many places this beautiful county has to offer. We will definitely be returning to The Lodge."

"Pros. Lovely setting in the middle of the Somerset levels with all its wildlife. Peaceful and isolated, it it gives a sense of away from it all inspite of being in an area of one of the largest group of caravan and lodge sites I have seen, these were not at all visible and had no impact. The cottage is cleverly laid out with two ensuite comfortable double bedrooms and a practical spacious living area. The welcoming gifts of biscuits and wine were much appreciated.A hike up Brean Down was very much enjoyed and the access route was thrilling.Cons. Only minor but the local roads need care, accessing the M5, requires a bit of a journey. The kitchen was well supplied which was good as nice places to eat in that area seem to be at a premium. The owner visited us during our stay to check that everything was Ok."
