"The overall rating is justifiable in that the whole experience was better than expected in most aspects, and even the couple of minor issues were dealt with immediately, in a manner befitting the top class service that the owners provide. From the moment we entered the area, we were surrounded by a peace and tranquility that started the holiday mode immediately. Entering the cottage, and following the very helpful instructions and guidelines that were sent by email, we were taken aback; the pictures online did not do Jasmine Cottage justice. It was so beautiful, cosy, and warm, with a welcome package that included a delicious sponge cake! Both myself and my wife were so inspired by the Cottage, that it wasn’t long before we were unpacked, and either lounging in the conservatory, with accompanying birdsong, or in the sitting room, in front of the real log burner; in both cases, a book in hand, and a plan of doing absolutely nothing! There was only a few cars that passed by, but other than that, just the sounds of nature. There was even the hooting of an owl each night, which was a special treat. To finish the day, we had a choice of either a walk-in shower, with lots of room, or a chrome clawed roll-edge bath, which again, was an indulgence that is the whole “Jasmine Cottage Experience”.For the times we needed to top up our shopping, It was only 10-15 minutes by car to the local Tesco, or maybe a touch more to either Blandford Forum, Sturminster Newton, or Dorchester.Highly recommended."

"Probably one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in in over a decade. The owners have obviously thought about the layout inside and out and have high standards offering the best makes of equipment throughout. Two generations and our dogs, we loved it, it also helped with had the best weather over the Easter weekend. The generous sized private garden was totally secure for our dogs, there is also a shared field that you could exercise your dogs but to be fair with the good size garden and long walks out we didn’t use it apart from saying hello to the horse adjacent to the field and the dog poop bin (excellent thought!) The garden overlooks the owner’s equine school, rarely used while we were there but when it was it was lovely to see. Well equipped kitchen and plenty of down stair space so you didn’t feel on top of each other. Minor comment from some of the family hitting their heads on the stairs that run up over one side of the bath didn’t affect me as I’m short :) but that really was a little thing. Lots of places to visit within thrity minute drive. Would highly recommend and definitely visit again."

"Overall a reasonably good holiday cottage choice. Be aware that it is a very old property and as you would expect is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues; the stairs, which are steep and turn would be difficult. Generally all necessary equipment etc was there, although the garden furniture was very limited and not in keeping with the cottage. Being an old property you cannot escape many cobwebs and the spiders that go with them and there were some woodlice on the carpets when we arrived. Generally some of the cottage could do with some TLC so be aware!! (e.g. hole in kitchen door that would allow a small visitor such as a mouse to visit!!)Garden very big but in need of TLC. We were happy with location as we know the area well but the nearest facilities of any sort are Bere Regis or further afield in Wareham, Dorchester or Poole. Owner was very flexible with start and finish dates due to not being booked just before we arrived which was appreciated. Would we book again? Not sure but on balance a fair choice, and we weren't too bothered by some of the aspects above as we are used to a rural property."

"The best word for Crofters Cottage is quirky. All the downstairs rooms are in a straight line across the back of the cottage. The kitchen is large and well equipped, The adjacent sitting room has very comfortable seating for four people and a large television. Next to it is the dinning room, with the stairs off to the left. It is a spiral staircase with some very narrow steps and no proper hand rail although there are plenty of places to hold on to something. It was difficult to get cases up the stairs.Through the dinning room to the second sitting room which we did not use and beyond that is the utility room with a fridge freezer and a toilet off.Upstairs three bedrooms the master bedroom is massive but contains no wardrobe hanging space is in the very large bathroom with wardrobes that run into one another, More hanging and shelf space than you could ever want. There was always a plentiful supply of hot water.the third bedroom was the smallest but still an adequate size. We would certainly stay there again"

"We enjoyed our weekend at Green oak cottage. The views of the country side from the garden are truly stunning, it was lovely sitting in the garden watching the sun set. The cottage itself is beautiful and homely with everything you need. The spa bath was amazing! We took our dog and had great walks from the cottage, it was really therapeutic walking through the country side, so peaceful. We came across a little waterfall which was nice to see, and lots of sheep and a pig in their enclosures. Just across the driveway from the cottage there is also another garden which was large enough for our dog to have a run around with her ball. The welcome basket was very much appreciated, copse house cider that's made across the road and crisps and biscuits, they were delicious. David introduced himself and was very helpful with advice on where to walk our dog. Very friendly and we knew where David and Jane were if we needed anything. Overall a perfect cottage to get away from it all and relax."
