"If you have young grandsons to entertain during the school holiday for Half Term, and have to make sure they are not bored, you might not think a holiday cottage in a Norfolk Village would be the thing to do, especially when you take into account that they come from a village in Suffolk!! We found it very comfortable, and for some reason, the boys liked to keep their room tidy??The cottage was lovely and clean and welcoming, as were the Owners, and couldn't do enough for us. We went for local walks and saw cattle and Llamas, and all kinds of wildlife. We drove for days out to Alderburgh, and all seaside places within an hours drive, like Southwold, and Gt Yarmouth to see the magnificent Sea Life Centre which was well worth a visit, and kept the boys amused, together with all the fish and chips and lovely fresh sea food wherever we went, plus we bought some and took it back for tea, with bread all fresh from the little shop in an adjoining village on the way home. There is no light pollution at the cottage at night, and the sound of the owl as I stood outside the back door and looked up at the stars one night was lovely. The stars were so beautiful, you could see the Milky Way, and the whole time spent there which I think was Sunday night to Thurs night of Half Term was so relaxing , even with young men who were never bored at any point. They had to be home by Friday as it was Halloween, and they were going to a Party, so we dropped them off, and, as I listened to them talking to their parents, who seemed a lot more relaxed for having had some time to themselves, and hearing them recount all they had done, and showing off photos they had taken, plus seeing them laugh and laugh at the tricks they played on their granddad, I realised it had been more fun for them than I had anticipated it would have been when I booked it. We live 2 hours drive away from them, and so, it was a pleasure to have them all to ourselves, and the cottage had a great deal to do with that. It provided for all our needs. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone, old, young, whatever your needs, if you want a nice relaxing stay, in peace and quiet with lots of fresh air, and sea air only a drive away, go and stay there. My only gripe was that the satnav took us home a few times the "country roads way ", until we got our bearings and took a more direct route, but that is the problem of the satnav, not the cottage."

"This is a beautifully decorated, new cottage that has gorgeous furniture and *almost* everything you could want for a break away in the countryside. Unfortunately the hot tub wasn't hot, and we could find no instructions on how to increase the temperature (and we did ask the owner as well but received no response), so we weren't really able to use it even though we had specifically chosen the property because of that feature. The sauna again had no real instructions for use but we managed to figure it out and warm it up eventually. This too was a little lacklustre, although it is a lovely and unique feature. The house itself has plenty of room and is so well equipped except for a couple of things (no matches - to light the cosy woodburning fire - and no dishwasher tablets for the dishwasher). We would have expected those items to be there, however there was a lovely welcome basket full of goodies which was so nice to receive!!The surrounding area is stunning and right on your doorstep for walks and exploring. It really feels you're in the middle of nowhere, but it's also easy to get to from Norwich station. Some clearer walking routes and maps would be useful in the Information Book, and also some better directions on how to get to the cottage itself as it's quite difficult to find (particularly in the dark!).Overall we really enjoyed our stay and this is a stunning property in a great location; there are just a few elements that could be easily improved to give it the real wow factor."

"The Manor House is a beautiful and comfortable property, spacious and very well equipped and appointed. Very nice touches, like toiletries, dressing gowns, slippers, and a nice food parcel including bottles of prosecco and beer. Naomi (the owner) visited the evening we arrived and was quick to address a couple of minor issues such as light bulbs not working and the washing machine door which had been broken by the previous tenants (it was already booked for repair, and indeed was repaired the day after we arrived). I only have a couple of minor niggles; one was a lack of storage in some of the bedrooms (eg. no drawer space) which seemed odd given that the rooms were all easily large enough to accommodate a chest of drawers! Also, in the kitchen, the crockery/glass/cutlery supply was more than ample, but we did note a lack of large pans, which was strange given that the house sleeps 16. The largest saucepan was only just big enough for one packet of pasta. There was a large heavy wok and some Le Creuset cookware but none of this could be used on the induction hob, only the Aga, and it was very heavy to lift. Minor issues though - it's a lovely property and I'm sure anyone holidaying there will have a great week!We visited the nearby pub (Lydd Arms) a couple of times including once for dinner. They were very friendly, although because we were such a big group we had to pre-order our food 1-2 days which took a bit of organisation."

"Great location, felt so rural, with Norwich city just 15 mins away! The cottage comfortably housed 8 of us and was perfect for our birthday celebrations. We all commented on the lovely comfortable beds! However, there were some negatives that could so easily be rectified and make this cottage into such a beautiful and perfect place to stay. For us the house wasn’t well equipped enough for 8 (ie only 4 bowls, 4 small glasses, 2 tea towels etc). We had to buy a bread knife as there wasn’t one. The bbq was a great addition but was filthy and no tools to clean it and our biggest negative was the most uncomfortable corner sofa in the lounge... The hot tub and sauna was a brilliant addition and would have been perfect had the tub have been warm. We contacted the owners who ordered a new element and quickly fitted it but it was a shame it wasn’t working. If you have the choice, choose the cottage next door as the hot tub is to the side of the house rather than the front... just felt a bit more secluded."

"We had a great time staying here - the house itself was lovely but we had an issue with the heating and hot water because a gas delivery hadn't arrived. Had this not been the case we would have scored this a 10 overall. The owner was fantastic and did everything they could to get us hot water, even to the extent of buying us extra kettles so we could give the toddlers their baths a bit easier (instead of boiling water in the kitchen and running it upstairs). They gave us extra wood for the fires as well and it really did feel like they did everything they possibly could to sort the issue. We intend to go back to either this house or one of the owner's other houses though as they were lovely, large and very well equipped. There is also a pool table and table football in the courtyard which I think is missing from the description on this site and probably should be added in!"
