"There were three of us in the party including a 86 year old plus our dog. The website did not mention that the railway backed on to the property and trains ran from early morning to late evening and were very noisy. The 'lodge' and the immediate area around it was run down and a lot could have been done to improve it. All the windows were dirty including the frames inside and out. Although the kitchen had equipment very little of it matched..the cutlery was a lot to be desired and only two teaspoons. The double bed was very small with a very thin mattress...the mats in the twin room slipped and were positively dangerous..the whole lodge was dusty including the bedside lamps.beside the sofa in the lounge has clearly not been swept in months and neither had the side of the shower. Our biggest problem was the toilet which would not flush properly. One of our party helped Harry the owner for a few hours to try and clear the blockage. He left the plunger rod with us. When we informed him it was still not flushing away he said he would sort it when we had gone! leaving us to rod the toilet every time we used it. I had a bout of sickness and diarrhoea which is something I very rarely get so not pleasant for anybody and I believe caused by us having to rod a dirty toilet. The door between the bedroom and lounge doesn't shut without force..the kitchen window has a sign saying do not open because it is broken..one of the kitchen cupboard door didn't open..the oven was dirty. When we arrived we were told the battery in the remote needed replacing so we would need to do it manually..all in all very disappointed..this is not up to the standard it should be...and as a minor point the garden is not enclosed as stated and there is a sign asking you to not exercise your dog in the garden so not dog friendly really.."

"Beautiful cottage renovation in a great locationThis immaculate, well-equipped semi-detached cottage has beenthoughtfully renovated with the comfort and convenience of holiday guestsin mind. We stayed over Easter (two adults, two six year olds), andwould happily stay again. Very generous landlady with a wonderfulwelcome pack. The upstairs has surprisingly good head height, and the roof veluxes,French doors off the kitchen and modern decor bring a light airy feelto the whole property. Extensive outside space with comfortableseating / dining set. Great use of available interior space withextra storage in the downstairs cloakroom and upstairs in the walk-in wardrobe. The large shower room with velux was a delight. The opulent sofa initially seemed large for the living space, but after an exhausting day at Bewilderwood it was very much appreciated! The front double bedroom has a better view over fields and the most comfortable bed, while the rear twin room overlooks neighbouring gardens and has better storage. The cottagey stairs are steep and narrow, but not at all tricky.Worth noting that this lovely little house, whilst in a pretty and serenely quiet location, is not the remote idyll that some holidaymakers may seek. It is part of a small terrace set off the main Horning / Wroxham road, somewhat reminiscent of quiet Victorian residential areas in Cambridge and Norwich. There is a pleasing sense of local community here, and neighbouring families were welcoming and considerate. This part of the Broads is great for young children and adults alike, with Hoveton Hall Gardens, Wroxham Barns and the villages of Horning and Wroxton such a short drive away, each offering lovely places to eat out. A lovely break at any time of the year."

"This cottage and the owner deserve the "Rose Award " ! its a beautiful tastefully appointed cottage cosy and well equipped . We had a lovely stay in this cottage from the 4th of February - we didn't expect the cottage owners to share so much of their beloved cottage with the visitors - but everything was arranged to make the stay homely and comfortable . For instance the owner had thought of places of interest and had put books and information available to help with finding our way around. He was so very kind and rang us before our trip to have a chat and mentioned important places to visit with times and the details to look for in the cottage to support this. A very nice surprise to find some lovely treats awaiting in the kitchen this was a welcome indeed! Although it was February and the heart of winter and sometimes wet outside on a few nights we could enjoy the log burners and the watch the stars in a very black sky through the roof windows. The underfloor heating was a touch of decadence and the heating generally was more than adequate without the log burners when the weather changed. We would like to also thank the wonderful neighbours who were so very kind when we lost our car keys at the end of our stay. ( during their Sunday lunch time too!! )"

"the waiting rooms is a fabulous place to stay, especially if you have 2 dogs. we had a working guide dog and a retired guide dog with us and they loved the huge garden to play in. we loved the garden too as it was very secure and the location is very peaceful. the cottage itself is lovely and just the right size for 2 people with 2 dogs. very clean and looks quite new. our only grumble, if there was any at all, was the lack of cupboard space in the kitchen for our grocery shopping, but this wasn't insurmountable and didn't detract from our enjoyment of the cottage. the owners live next door in the station house and they are a lovely friendly couple. our youngest guide dog was fascinated by their young labarador pups. we didn't use the pub or the shop in the village so can't comment on those. Cawston is about 16 miles or so from the coast and not much further to Norwich so easy to venture out. we had a ride on the steam train from Sheringham to Holt and were lucky enough to meet a lovely old chap who had been a steam train driver and had actually driven his train through Cawston station when it was still working. he told us quite a few tales about it. all in all we will be back if we get the chance as it was perfect for the dogs. thank you."

"We had an excellent week at Chestney House, helped by fab weather for our week. We had no issues whilst we were there. This was a family holiday for six adults and two babies and the accommodation provided everything we needed for us all. The lounge has plenty of comfortable seating and a separate dining room and the kitchen is very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and two of the bed rooms had sea views. I suppose if occupants are all travelling separately the only issue is the parking, there is only room for one car at the rear of the property, via the owner we bought a couple of two week parking permits for the area which meant we could park across the road which made life easier and we were able to use this permit in Kings Lynn when we visited. The house is a very short walk to the shops and seafront, but does not suffer from noise. So I would thoroughly recommend the accommodation and whilst we had no problems the owner is very approachable and available should you have any issues."
