"The cottage itself is really lovely. It is cosy and spotlessly clean. The king sized bed is very comfortable and the shower is great. You can watch hares from the bedroom window and hear owls every night. But there are some things you need to know before you decide to book it….The cottage is in a terrace, right on the road, with no pavement. The terrace is at the edge of the village, near a bend and cars travel fast past it. A parking space has been created a little way up the road but it is very narrow and you cannot get the car doors wide open – tricky for getting dogs and small children in car seats in and out through the side doors. You have to carry your luggage a little way along the road when you unload/load the car. You cannot see to drive out of the parking area so you have to have someone to see you out. Even then your helper has to leap into the car quickly, as cars whizz round the corner to find yours stationary in the road. The garden is unfenced and so is not secure for dogs. You have to walk on the road to get to a place to walk your dog. Despite comments in previous reviews, the owners have not supplied an outside light to help you see your dog in the garden in the dark, or created a rear access from the car park area.Despite comments in 50% of recent reviews the owners have not supplied an information pack for the property. There were manuals for the microwave and the toaster only. We were constantly woken at 3.15am by the central heating as we didn’t know how to control it and we accidentally locked the hob and then couldn’t use it. In the end we were so fed up that we researched online and wrote our own information pack and left it at the property for future guests to use – though we didn’t include the smart TV which I just didn’t watch. There is no guarantee that it will remain there. The village pub is now only open Wed to Sun and doesn’t serve food. The next nearest pub is a 5 minute drive away. The bathroom is very compact and has a very shallow sink that is not ideal for wet shaving.Overall, the lack of a welcome pack, the cottage’s position on the road and the hazards of the parking area are enough for us to be sure that we will not stay at this cottage again."

"Beautiful cottage renovation in a great locationThis immaculate, well-equipped semi-detached cottage has beenthoughtfully renovated with the comfort and convenience of holiday guestsin mind. We stayed over Easter (two adults, two six year olds), andwould happily stay again. Very generous landlady with a wonderfulwelcome pack. The upstairs has surprisingly good head height, and the roof veluxes,French doors off the kitchen and modern decor bring a light airy feelto the whole property. Extensive outside space with comfortableseating / dining set. Great use of available interior space withextra storage in the downstairs cloakroom and upstairs in the walk-in wardrobe. The large shower room with velux was a delight. The opulent sofa initially seemed large for the living space, but after an exhausting day at Bewilderwood it was very much appreciated! The front double bedroom has a better view over fields and the most comfortable bed, while the rear twin room overlooks neighbouring gardens and has better storage. The cottagey stairs are steep and narrow, but not at all tricky.Worth noting that this lovely little house, whilst in a pretty and serenely quiet location, is not the remote idyll that some holidaymakers may seek. It is part of a small terrace set off the main Horning / Wroxham road, somewhat reminiscent of quiet Victorian residential areas in Cambridge and Norwich. There is a pleasing sense of local community here, and neighbouring families were welcoming and considerate. This part of the Broads is great for young children and adults alike, with Hoveton Hall Gardens, Wroxham Barns and the villages of Horning and Wroxton such a short drive away, each offering lovely places to eat out. A lovely break at any time of the year."

"We love the location. The cottage was nicely decorated and fundamentally a good cottage. We were however disappointed with the cleanliness of the cottage. The were areas that had not been cleaned and where dust or grime had collected but had not been cleaned. The dishwasher was not washing properly and we found dirt in the water sprayers. Also mould on the walls behind the beds stairs. We appreciate it is an old building and mouldy builds up but it needs to be cleaned off. We loved the location and the cottage was cosy. We would stay again if it were cleaner."

"Our family recently had a thoroughly enjoyable and comfortable week at Birch and would not hesitate to revisit one day. The kitchen and lounge are particularly well appointed and, while a little in a quiet corner of Norfolk, we found it well placed for the east coast and the southern broads.I’ll admit that on first arriving and driving up the farm track we were a little worried what we might find but it turned out to be perfect for a family week and our young grandchildren especially had a great week."

"I spent 4 nights with my husband, daughter and two grandchildren in this lovely cottage. It had everything we could possibly need and more. Everywhere including the bedrooms were really spacious . We liked the fact that you could walk to Haddiscoe train station in less than 5 minutes so could leave the car behind and travel as far as Norwich one way or Lowestoft the other way. My grandchildren aged 9 and 6 loved it. We would certainly like to return in the future it as is ideal for our needs."
