"This was our second visit to Pen Copi and although it is set in a beautiful location the cottage itself now feels extremely tired. Obviously it is Avery old cottage and you would expect certain things not to be as you would find in a more modern cottage, however there were things that could have made it more enjoyable. For example I did comment last year on the very old cooker, this was still the same this year so it could definitely do with upgrading and it could also do with more baking trays etc. Although the sink in the bathroom has been replaced, the towel rail is still hanging off the wall and the walls itself are peeling and flaking paint very badly, as they were last year, presumably as this appears to be rated it has been tested for asbestos? The bathroom floor was very dirty with an obvious build up over time. A shame these things have not been addressed as the cottage and location are fabulous."

"My friends and I absolutely *loved* staying at the Cow Shed. For a start the place is huge - much bigger than it looks in the pictures! It was also incredibly well equipped - we had more than enough places to sit, to eat around a table and to cook a full Christmas dinner. The wood-burning stove was lovely and we had it on most of the time we were in the cottage, so heating was never an issue! The area is fairly remote in terms of some of Wales' best known spots, but we still found some stunning walks and lovely towns very nearby for a great holiday. The only one, tiny tiny complaint we had is that the diagrams on the cooker had worn out, so it took us quite a lot of guess-work to figure out how to use the oven and the different hob rings. But when that's the worst you have to say about a place - you're doing very well! "

"I booked the Old Court House as a last minute break for the family, and on arrival we were not dissapointed. The old cells are still in place which the kids found facinating. I advise anyone who is thinking about booking this accommodation to do it, dont mess around, you will not regret it. We ordered our groceries from Tesco and they arrived at the time slot we booked, this saved us loadibg the car with food. Rhayader has many fine eating places and there is a pub opposite which can be loud on a Saturday but all quiet from 12.30am. Aberystwyth is a good 1 hour drive with Cardiff being reached in around 2 hours. We did not park the car as suggested by the owner as the street was not very well lit, we used the street directly opposite without any problem or issue. Book and Enjoy."

"Bryntrisant is a lovely little cottage and an ideal base for exploring mid-Wales. It is surrounded by farmland and when we stayed (end April) the fields were full of lambs.Pros: Cosy, real fire if you need it, well equipped kitchen, comfortable sofas, excellent shower, comfy bed, good size garden, great views, quiet locations.Cons: Bed needs a bigger duvet, not suitable for tall people - doorway out to hall/downstairs loo can't be more than 5.5 ft high and is quite deep (I hit my head three times) and low beams in the bedrooms, small fridge very low to the floor. There is also no DVD player which I hadn't spotted in the cottage details so had to buy a budget one from Tesco in Aber."

"We chose this holiday cottage because it was rural & dog friendly with local walks on the doorstep. We knew that there were no local amenities in the village & that wasn't a problem as it wasn't far to Aberystwyth to stock up. The house had everything you needed & the welcome basket & small touches (toiletries, extra towels) made it feel extra special. The road was quiet when we were there & not many cars drove past. There is a fridge freezer in the garage & a ping pong table. The hot tub after a long walk was bliss. The dog friendly layout with floors to easily clean was essential after the woods & beaches. We would definitely recommend this cottage & hope to return again."
