"A very special Christmas (For health reasons) with both our sons and their families.Six adults and four grandchildren.Bedrooms for all with separate bathrooms for each family.A small cosy room with a TV ideal for the kids to go and watch or play whilst we chatted around the log burner (only lit for ambiance, not needed for heating). The underfloor heating worked very well although I suspect in really cold weather it may need the log burner also. The large room was excellent for eating and the kitchen area very well equipped. The owners had put up a Christmas tree and left a delightful Christmas cake (a nice touch).Back garden ideal for letting the two dogs in and a walk in the owners field above the cottage proved to be more like a swamp given the amount of rain we had in December (The dogs enjoyed it).Plenty of room out front for the children to play with their new toys (Scooters, bike). All in all excellent.Eldest and only grandson actually asked if we could come again, only for longer next time."

"Beautiful cottage in lovely countryside.Very secluded and garden completely secure for young children and dogs as it is gated off from front access. Although one bedroom downstairs is completely fitted for disabled , there is still a steep ramp up to front access of house which might cause some concern to wheelchair pushers !Beds were so comfortable...better than home, but the seating in the tv room was very uncomfortable and wouldn't seat more than four or five . Very well equipped , nothing needed at all and owners were very friendly and happy to help. If you do not like feather pillows you might want to take a pillow as all were feather which some of our party didn't like. On the whole a stunning cottage which we will be happy to visit again and thoroughly recommend. "

"The cottage is excellent apart from most exterior lights not working and some interior lights also not working. That being said, the cottage is very spacious, with every piece if equipment you could possibly need. The garden and grounds are well maintained with plenty of room for kids to play. There was a trampoline with surround in front of house which was a nice idea for people with kids. Tv is located in a seperate room from living room which allows time to relax and talk or play games. There are walks from the cottage, with access across the adjacent fields. The land owners are very nice and will happily welcome you. Overall the cottage and it's owners are very nice and would be happy to stay there again. Would most deffinately recommend!"

"The chalet is situated in a large garden area, all grass, with a view of the dam. There are fields around a large area of the property. The bird life and small mammals that come into the garden to be fed are amazing. Woodpecker, Jay, various tits, siskins, too many to mention! AND Squirrels that are very acrobatic and hilarious to watch. Well worth the bird food bill! The surrounding area is interesting, brilliant for walks, locally and at the nearby Forest area which has many walks for all abilities, or just relaxing. Mr. & Mrs. Barley made us feel very welcome with many nice touches such as small hand soaps, flowers, coffee tea and sugar. Overall, one of the best places we have stayed and I would highly recommend it to anyone. April 2012."

"Lane Cottage is a very well equipped, comfortable cottage well suited to a larger group. The large kitchen, dining and lounge area with wood burning stove is ideal for the evenings. As four couples we all liked the four bedroom areas each with their own bathroom. Having the TV separate from the main lounge would also suit family groups who want talk while perhaps the younger generation want catch up with their favorite soaps. The standard of whole house and especially the kitchen and all appliances is higher than in most cottages. The owner was very helpful and came over to show us how everything worked."
