Best self catering accommodation we have ever stayed in and we have been holidaying in UK and Europe for many years. I wish we had known about this cottage when our children were young - we would definitely recommend it for children, a great way to enjoy the outdoors if you live in an urban area.<br /> Tips: Use the extensive literature provided in the cottage to plan your days, everything is at hand, up-to-date including maps, menus, visitor attractions and prices. We had an outdoor holiday walking, birdwatching and picnics.</span>"

"What a beautiful little hidden gem, a real get away from it all place to stay. Sat right on the River Dovey and surrounded by the Welsh hills and countryside you feel like the only people in the world but you are only a short drive from civilisation if you want it. We have just enjoyed a really relaxing holiday in this lovely Welsh stone cottage with a cosy wood burner and no tv, except to watch DVDs on if you wish too. I was happy to just sit and read and listen to the roaring river running right next to the cottage and watch the flickering flames of the log burner, then there are all of the birds to watch from the window seat in the bedroom. I can't emphasise how great a place this is to stay, there was every thing we needed and we were very comfortable with all furnishings etc . Decorated to an authentic style with well equipped kitchen and a downstairs shower room. "

"We had an absolutely perfect week long stay at this fantastic cottage in North Wales. It's location on a quiet lane right on the banks of the River Dovey just cannot be beaten if you are looking to get away from it all and immerse yourself in the beautiful Welsh countryside. The fully renovated cottage itself is very comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen and relaxing lounge. The beds were very comfortable and we slept very soundly. The views from the lounge, kitchen and bedrooms of the river and surrounding countryside are breathtaking. The wildlife living in the area is amazing with a huge variety of birds including Dippers, pheasants, Ospreys etc. We cannot wait to return to Pen Y Bont. Very highly recommended."

"Fantastic immaculate cottage, who cares about lack of TV signal? River at the moment is fascinating and loved the bridge further down. Loads of wildlife, too early in the year for salmon, but maybe one year we'll see some. The improvements which have been made, mainly the decking outside, are well done. Having breakfast and evening meals outside on the decking overlooking the river was a real treat. Fantastic views from inside anyway, so even if it's raining, the views are still as great. Central for touring mountains, sea and main towns which is a bonus, nothing is too distant for day trips. If you are looking for a proper relaxing place to stay, this is it. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable."

"The cottage was very clean and comfortable with exceptional views. The balcony is a great add on but isn't very private as there are a lot of walkers who stop there to take pictures which isn't ideal when your sitting down to eat. We took our dog and on the first day she nearly got hit by a car that came zooming up the lane, thank God she was on her lead and I managed to drag her onto the verge. That made me very nervous as the front door is the only door on the cottage and is directly off the lane. There was road works going on in the area so maybe the lane was busier than usual. The views are spectacular and the Fox pub was great for food and drinks. Lots of great walks and the beaches are lovely."
