"We spent a week at Penderow mid September as an extended family group including a nearly 3 year old , 5 month old twins and 3 little dogs. The house was really large ,clean and comfortable and provided very flexible sleeping arrangements as there were plenty of twin beds as well as doubles that could be made twin if necessary. The "dormitory " upstairs was very big with 4 single beds and large tv and DVD . My daughter slept there with her baby twins and little daughter but it would have been really great for older children to have their own space. All the beds were very comfortable and the lovely white bedlinen and white fluffy towels were of excellent quality and very much appreciated. There was also a toddler bed and two travel cots available.Incredibly well equipped kitchen and large utility room which was great for the dogs. It was very useful to have the extra fridges and separate freezer in there too.Loved the size of the kitchen and we had all our meals there as a family around the large table. The sitting room had 4 large comfy sofas and large tv and the dining table on the mezzanine area was used for a1000 piece jigsaw to tax us all through the week! ( there were lots of these and other games provided in the house and in the separate games room opposite the owners house near the wonderful swimming pool.Sarah and Barrie were incredibly welcoming and sorted out any of our queries really promptly . Sarah took us all to see her rare breed chickens on the second day and also some chicks. There were some sheep and lots of horses around too as Penderrow is also a stud . New laid eggs were available to buy and we got through loads and took some home - delicious. The fantastic pool attached to the owners house ( which we had to ourselves that week although if the other cottage had been occupied would have been shared) was heated and just the right size for a relaxing swim and to give a little one confidence in the water. We had lots of fun there. It was modern and housed in a beautiful oak framed building with a good sized shower and loo where you could change. The weather was mixed when we were there but we visited Crackington Haven , Boscastle Tintagel and Bude and had a couple of lovely days at Widemouth Bay beach which was great for little ones and dogs.We had a really good week."

"This cottage was amazing. I'm not very good at doing reviews I think this is actually my first one and we have stayed in a few different cottages and lodges but this one really deserves it! We arrive after our 3 hour drive and greeted by the owner who is lovely. We had our 5 month old puppy who was greeted by his 4 great friendly dogs. We was shown to our cottage and had everything explained from the beautiful sharing outdoor heated seating area to our little cottage with everything we needed. As Iv said we have done a few of these and this was by far the best. The cottage itself is perfect and finished to a lovely standard. But it was the little touchs that stood out, a coffee pod with a selection of pods, kitchen essentials (they don't very often come with these), docking station and even pack of cards and boggle :) We are 28 and yet love all of these added Touches.Thank you for a lovely stay :) x"

"Very disappointed in cottage. Pool was approx. 700 yards from house, started week warm ended cool. No way to dry wet clothes in wet weather. 2 bedrooms half below drive level. Some glass and china chipped, pots and pans inadequate size and number for 12 people and baby. Large fridge door kept swinging open, we wedged it with a dirty, rusty fire extinguisher. Games room had 2 mirrors propped on dirty floor and damp patch. Only 1 of 3 TV were working. Large rug in lounge kept rucking up and tripping young and elderly. Hall carpet was badly stained. Upstairs bathroom did not have anywhere to put personal item so we lived out of wash bags. Owners asked us to leave house in condition we found it in. Considered house far too expensive, however beds and towels were good and rest of house clean enough on arrival."

"We found the cottage lovely to stay at, the owner is very friendly and helpful. There were six of us - two couples and 2 children. Of the two double bedrooms the master bedroom is very comfortable, the second double bedroom not so comfortable at all - the mattress is too soft so we ended up not using this bedroom! The twin and single bedrooms are both comfortable and all bedrooms are very clean. The kitchen could do with a few more utensils and more pots and pans. The location is excellent to see a lot of cornwall we managed to go to quite a few beaches, tintagel, becky falls and boscastle all within 40-50mins drive. The cottage is very clean and well maintained, spacious and has a lovely garden with a lovely dolls house for the kids.Overall we had a lovely stay and would come back to Cornwall! Thank you."

"It's a gorgeous property and the location is wonderfully remote. The welcome pack of bread, milk and eggs was perfect after a long drive down. One or two areas need some attention, such as the grouting and shower panel in the upstairs bathroom, and the garden, but overall it's lovely. It does need more pots and pans and utensils in the kitchen to make the best of the fabulous cooking range, and some larger drinking glasses. Including a decent Sky package would enhance the experience. Also there was no DVD player, which had been included in the listing. I would definitely recommend it though and may well come back. A tip for other visitors: The WiFi reception is patchy in the livingroom and best in the kitchen, and do visit the Cornish Arms in Tavistock for the best roast dinner ever."
