"Overall we had a lovely stay. The cottage is beautiful and in a wonderful location, great for walking. I think the cleanliness needs to be improved, it could do with a serious deep clean, the shower head was covered in limescale (easily recitified) pots, pans, plates and cutlery all needed washing before even using them due to grease and dirt. Baking trays in the oven covered in someone else’s food. I was also surprised that there was no stair gate for the top of the stairs, been child friendly you would have thought this was a must due to the stairs steepness. Having a 2 year old we had to barricade the stairs with boxes and bags so he didn’t get out of bed on a night and fall down them. In the welcome packs and cottage information packs I felt that it was very over the top on how clean you should leave it. Yes we know been self catered you would intend to leave it as you found it bar changing beds and cleaning bathrooms however been a dog friendly cottge also it states there must be no trace whatsoever that dogs were even here. I found myself cleaning like a maniac on the morning of departure in case someone came to find me for leaving a single dog hair!! ( my dogs do not shed) but we pay £20 extra per dog, I’m not sure what this is going towards if it isn’t going towards a more thorough clean after we’ve left? There were lots of rules and regulations to follow which isn’t a great way to start a holiday. And lastly I was hugely dissatisfied to find out later after booking with you that on another website I wouldn’t have had to pay for my dogs and I also would have paid a lot loss for my holiday. I will not be using your company again."

"On the plus side, the house is very comfortable and had everything we needed for a short break. We had 2 cars with us, and parked one in the driveway and the other on the road - no problem. On the negative side, it was a good job we did not bring our dog as originally intended, as the small garden (front and back) was definitely not secure either for dogs or our 2 small grandchildren. We did eventually find some kind of temporary fencing in the garage along with a notice saying that we should use the bungee straps provided to strap the fencing to a tree to make the garden secure - not a very satisfactory solution as a) too awkward, and b) most medium sized dogs would be able to jump over it. The garden was also quite overgrown, the lawn needed mowing, and needed clearing of rubbish - we found an old frying pan in the back garden. Regarding cleanliness, an empty Pepsi can was found on top of a dressing table and small grandson found old sweets under a sofa."

"Very comfortable, generally well equipped cottage. No ice tray (which seemed odd), and there were dvds provided but no means of playing them. There was an xbox which, after phoning the admin office, we discovered had the ability to play dvds, but only if you download an app onto the xbox. You needed a login to do this, which obviously we don't have. It would be much simpler to spend £25 on a small dvd player for guests to use.Maybe we've just been spoiled by other cottages we've rented, but it would have been nice to have a little welcome pack on arrival, even just with a couple of tea bags and coffee sachets. There was no salt and the liquid soap in the bathroom ran out on the third day. These little touches can make all the difference. Having said all that, we would rent the cottage again as we had a lovely time there. (My daughter wants me to mention how comfortable the beds are too!)"

"I loved staying at Beega Apartment - it's perfect for being in the centre of Bowness and so able to get to most of the Lake District (I used the buses). There is a bit of noise in the evening but I didn't find it disturbed me too much - I can imagine it would be more annoying if it was really warm and you wanted the windows opened. The noise was worst at weekends but even then it didn't stop me from sleeping. The apartment was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. I enjoyed being able to use Freeview on both televisions as well. The heating was very effective when I did use it. I could have perhaps used a clothes horse to dry the clothes I washed while I was there but this is a very minor point. I would happily go back to Beega Apartment and would recommend to any solo traveller or couple."

"The cottage was lovely and very clean and in a smashing location close to Bassenthwaite village, however access to the garden is reached by going onto the end cottages property and you have to walk underneath their car-port, the neighbor every time we used the garden for our dog spied on us round the corner, when we were stood in the garden she was constantly watching us, it didn’t matter too much as we only used it when the dog needed to go out, however even when we were leaving/arriving in our car she hid round the corner watching. We noticed a few other comments in the visitors book about the neighbour in the end cottage, if you don’t need to use the garden the cottage is perfect apart from very poor water pressure,"
