"We had a lovely time staying at the acorns. We were met on arrival and the welcome gifts were a lovely touch. The house was clean and there was plenty of space for us all (7 of us stayed). The house is in a great location with several attractions only 5 minutes away. The house is fairly central on the island so the rest are only a short drive away too! I know people have complained about the parking on previous reviews due to the attached beauty salon, we had 3 cars to park on the drive. To be honest we were out all day exploring the island while the salon was open and by the time we got back it had closed for the day. On the one day we were around during opening hours we didn't experience any problems parking. This place is great and would recommend it to anyone wanting a nice place to stay to explore the island!"

"On first inspection the Acorns appeared very clean, however it became apparent that the house was in need of some maintenance and a proper clean. Copious amounts of dust covering the curtains and pelmets. Dirty washing machine and tumble dryer, dirty mattresses, pillows and cushions, lamp cable held together with tape, shower head in ensuite fell off and narrowly missed hitting my head. Same shower frequently goes cold after 10 minutes. Heavily stained bath towels. Only one television works NOT 4 tv's as advertised. Parking for 4 guest vechiles in front of the house but cars from the beauty salon almost daily park on the driveway making maneuvering on and off the drive difficult. The beauty salon is immediately opposite the house in the garage! No idea it would be so close."

"Has lots of potential but we have stayed in so many and this house just didn't match up to any of the others. There was so many nick nacks and ornaments, why? With children it's a nightmare, the bedroom door and bathroom door do not click shut so the kids can get out of bed and try the stairs or in the bathroom with hot water without you hearing them. Should be a stair gate around somewhere. The bathroom only accessed via the small bedroom isn't ideal but to not be able to click the door shut is a nightmare. The only door is the main bedroom door that shuts which isn't as necessary. Great location, parking was no trouble, well equipped and clean towels and bedding etc was lovely. The boiler kept saying error on it so had to keep being turned on and off, not ideal. "

"This is a lovely little property: beautifully furnished and decorated; well equipped; and nicely located at the southern tip of the island. The shop is only two minutes walk with a post office and pharmacy only a short walk further. Very sadly the pub in the village has closed, meaning the only one in the area is, for most people, a necessary drive, though it could be walked by those who don't mind a very steep uphill walk back. As far as we knew there was nowhere else to eat out nearby. However, we thoroughly enjoyed the island and its many ancient and historical buildings (to say nothing of the beaches). The property owner is very friendly, helpful, and available."

"We had a brilliant time at Bee Cottage. Great location for public transport, walking, lots of things to do, places to visit and lovely local beaches, pubs and villages. Two local supermarkets, restaurants, take-aways and pubs. Parking was easy and free on-road, owner told us where to park before arrival which was very helpful. Great value 7-day bus pass £25 including open-top and island coasters. Cottage was clean, well-equipped, with modern kitchen and bathroom, nicely renovated with lovely personal touches, very spacious with nice open fire and courtyard garden with pretty pots. A great place to spend a week or two."
