"We found it daunting that the cottage was overwhelmed with furniture and ornaments . The only space to hang clothes was an open rail in the main bedroom as all the wardrobe space was crammed with the owner's clothes. It was as if the cottage was lived in and the residents had popped to the shop's and would be back soon. The front door lock was faulty and although the helpful caretaker swopped the key we had to leave the door open when we were out. We had expected from the illustrations "faded splendour" but we got old , very worn and beyond dowdy. We were concerned about all the trailing elctrical cable's in the living room, the cooker controls were faulty and the microwave digital display did not function. The setting and garden were heavenly and the village quiet if somewhat lacking in amenities. Pub open wed to sunday not in daytime only evening and serving sandwiches only. Pub with food about 2 miles away."

"Our House is in a great location for many areas, Cambridge, Saffron Walden, Ely and Knebworth. We visited all of them. There was a lovely welcome hamper in the fridge. Crackers, cheese and chutney. Chocolates a pint of milk and some lovely coffee. Plenty of tea bags available. A co-op and Aldi just down the road for any supplies needed. The kitchen has everything you could need to make a meal in. All equipment available. Everything has been thought of. Julia and Clive have a great little property and are always on hand to help. The house is spotless. Lovely decoration and well thoughtout layout. Cozy and snug with underfloor heading down stairs, a bonus in the cold winter weather. Comfortable bedrooms, great Showers. Plenty of hot water due to having it's own boiler. A lovely homely home to spend a relaxing break in. Thank you Julia and Clive!"

"The best cottage we have ever stayed in. Alison was the perfect host who made you feel welcome and at home. The cottage is very spacious, 3 good sized bedrooms, fantastic fully fitted kitchen with plenty of crockery and utensils, there was even tea, coffee, milk, a bowl of fruit, 2 bottles of wine, orange juice and other essentials provided by Alison . Large wetroom with many toiletries provided. Beautiful lounge with extremely large sofas. Very tastefully decorated. Excellent quiet location. Cottage was spotlessly clean. we feel that there is nothing that Alison can do to better this cottage she should be proud of her 5 star cottage. Special thanks to Alison for Davids birthday card and cake, and for the apples from the trees We will not hesitate to return or recommend anybody to book this cottage. "

"We had a wonderful time at The Stables. The property is situated in an idyllic location which is only a few miles from the nearest town, but, at the same time, is remote enough to give you that sense of ruralness. The property was immaculately clean and there were plenty of 'extras' that one would not normally find in a holiday cottage - both in terms of things to do (the children loved the exercise bike!), and in terms of the consumables like having plenty of tea bags and toilet paper. And our hosts were friendly but respectful of our privacy.Best thing about the cottage - the sunsets. They were amazing!"

"The stables was an ideal base and reasonably clean and comfortable. The shower in the wet room had very poor drainage and this made it difficult if more than one person had a shower. In addition we were not told that the owner ran a business next door. The sound travelled between the connecting door which made us feel uncomfortable when she had a client as we felt that we should not speak. While we were there the owners had a joiner fit some sound proofing but did not warn us of the event which was very noisy for one afternoon. We are not convinced that the sound proofing will make too much difference."
