"Whilst the gite is typically French in appearance the reality is different. From the road the property looks good once you get inside it is clear that it requires a lot of work. The walls are covered in lining paper that has been painted and is now in need of a proper makeover. Paper is starting to peel from the walls especially in the main bedroom which has a poster attached with drawing pins, you can only guess what is underneath. Whilst the property had been given a basic clean on inspection you could see cobwebs which had been in place for a long time. There is only a 2 seater sofa in the lounge to relax on.The kitchen is well equipped but due to the bathroom extension only gets a small amount of natural light. The bathroom is downstairs and is in an extension. The toilet is like being in a cupboard and the shower cubical is the smallest we have come across with no room to move in it. Around the bathroom tap had not been properly cleaned with limescale easily visible. The main bedroom had a comfortable king sized bed but as mentioned it needs updating and decorating. There is an iron and ironing board at the side of the wardrobe but we had to remove cobwebs from them before use. The door to the main bedroom is very low and you need to mind your head. The garden is for the owners property next door, as nice as they appear and even though they did say use our garden you feel like you are intruding especially when they are using the patio furniture. Luckily we had good weather and used it as a touring base, it would have been depressing to spend all day in the property. The gite is very close to the town centre where all basic amenities are available with the exception of a restaurant, there are bars that do basic food. The church opposite is impressive."

"You have to agree in advance via SMS what time you arrive. A friendly lady is then at the barrier. There is no reception. Then you get your own pass and the house key. It is a pity that the lady really speaks nothing but French. That makes communication difficult, if you do not speak French well. The information says that the house is about 300-400 meters from the sea. That might be the case, but the beach is at least 1 km walk to a difficult walk. Not to do for people who are more difficult walking or with a pram / buggy. Or you have to drive 2 km to the booth at the boulevard of Wimereux. Note at low tide it is still 500 meters walk to the water, over wet sand, rocky parts and water pools before you are at the sea to swim. Furthermore, it is mainly a rock, pebble and stone beach, no sandy beach. House the beds are very nice! excellent facilities oven, microwave, washing machine. You can also use all the stuff in the barn. (Chairs with cushions, sunbeds with cushions, parasol, beach mats, bocce balls, batminton set, laundry rack and lots of clothespins.Fine!) The only thing missing is a dishwasher. But All the utensils (plates, pans, dishes, glasses, cups, cups and cutlery) was not exactly clean ... For a long time it did not seem to be greasy with dust on it. We first had to wash what we were going to use ourselves. The cupboards are overflowing. (With ease for 12 people) The rest of the house was nicely clean. Ennn .... the WiFi did not work. The device was broken, the hostess already said at the reception. So it was known, but unfortunately not solved. With 2 teenagers there, this was a downside, because that is why we had chosen this house. The "park" itself does not mean much. Only a tennis court, a small playground and a jeu de boules court."

"I thought it was more to the sea, however, the complex is in the next village, the owner is very nice, we were not in one but in gite gite 2, a front door with glass Ca 1 m2, 1 rear window Approx 1m2 , throughout the day with the big light to even hebben.het themselves in sunny weather which light was woefully too cold for the time of year so we had electric heaters that were not fully understood all new, but that helps little hear when there is a fireplace that has a chimney directly from half a meter then you might as well just open the door too laten.de sea is really not to walk within 6A7 kilometers, there are beautiful cycling paths nearby. only s "morning's sun on the front but then you have next to your neighbors, so less free, on the south side is a muddy field with my whole ducks and s" night noise making and missing a portion of their wing. there can not come if there's "afternoon sun komt.alles does work in the cottage just want you with big daughter in the house or the bathroom close when you are in it, and the exhaust is faulty so the water runs over along the walls, You can not take a shower because it is tilted over the bath and so you have to hold the nozzle and there is no wall or curtain so if you have 2 seconds outside the bath sp"

"A well maintained and very comfortable gite with a lovely open fire (logs are provided at 10 euros per barrow) which was very welcome over Christmas. The additional radiator central heating was also very effective. The gite was decorated with lights, candles and a small tree for the festive period and we were warmly welcomed with speciality chocolates and a 'french' Christmas pudding. The wifi connection was good as was the television/DVD but only French channels are available. The gite is in a small village with just one small general shop opposite attached to a little bar. All other shopping requirements are easily satisfied at the nearby small town of Samer (Intermarche supermarket, individual shops and a very good restaurant/bistro).The only slightly odd arrangement was the upstairs shower room/wc which was accessed via the second bedroom and was open to the room. The steep open stairs make it very difficult for the downstairs bathroom to be used at night by the occupants of the other two bedrooms. With relatively easy access to the motorway, Boulogne sur Mer and the Shuttle/ferry we would be very happy to use this gite again."

"Pros and cons The surroundings of the accommodation are very nice and cozy, really like the pictures. The people at the reception are very friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant in the square where you can dine à la carte and in buffet style Good price, with a beautiful view of the lake. The shop on that square offers all the necessary things. The kitchen of the house is well equipped with all the things from oyster knife to corkscrew, very handy. Minus points the town of fort mahon is close to the sea There is not much to experience. Lots of the same typical beach shops, but some nice cafe's but we were looked forward to it soon. The cottage itself (we stayed as couple with 1 baby in a house for 4/5 people) is fine but could be better for that price. It is very small for 4 to 5 people. The seat bed downstairs where 2 people should sleep, was full of spots and cracks. There is little privacy between the neighbors. Price / quality we did not recommend and we would not return. The communication with belvilla we found very pleasant, we would definitely book again for a next holiday."
