What our customers are saying about our Self Catering Holidays In Hauts De France.

"We spent a week here over the Christmas holiday. The house took a bit of finding as a road had been closed however after contacting the owner who told us to stay put his wife then came to find us and led us to the house. We were welcomed by the owner with a glass of wine which was very nice. The house was big enough to house all 11 of us without feeling cramped. The games room was a big plus with everyone especially the children who ranged in ages from 3 to 16. Many pool competitions. We sampled all the house had to offer from the lovey gardens, waterfall, boules court and fishing lake and had great fun. Some of the beds had seen their best and would be improved by replacing. Whilst there was an abundance of cutlery, glasses and crockery we felt that there was a dearth of cooking pots and casserole dishes given the house could accommodate 12. No lids to any pots! Perhaps this is the difference between French and English cooking! There was very little storage space in the kitchen for food products and they all had to be stored on the work top which made it look cluttered. We had a couple of issues which were redressed very promptly by the owner ie. no electricity in the kitchen one afternoon and no hot water all day. We were compensated by yet more bottles of wine by the owner! The location was excellent with a variety of supermarkets close by, as was beaches and historical Boulogne. We had an excellent family holiday and everyone has asked to return."

"Generally nice house. Enough room, and the children loved the table tennis table. Reliable wifi.House advertised as sleeping 9, but this relies on a worn-out sofa bed. Dining table didn't seat 9 comfortably. Oven small - only 2 racks. Quite a few small annoyances. No locks on bathroom doors. No door on one ensuite, and large mirror right opposite, so you can see into it from the bedroom door (which doesn't lock). This ensuite does not have a toilet. No curtains in main bedroom. Inadequate blind in ensuite that overlooks balcony. (Had to close shutters in both cases.)House not cleaned before our arrival. We found a broken toilet seat (not fixed during our stay) and lots of cobwebs.Parking is tricky. There is a drive and a garage, but both are narrow and hard to access due to cars parked right opposite house.Good bakery, small supermarket and station all within easy walking distance. Not a touristy region, but some good attractions within reasonable distance e.g. Paris, Parc Asterix, Parc St Paul."

"Terrific stay in a very nice part of France (with easy access from Calais and into Belgium). Hosts are extremely friendly and helpful with very good recommendations as to what to see and do. Totally self contained plot adjacent to the owners, with its own gated entrance, parking and huge garden for the dog to explore including stream and pond. Direct access to the old railway line behind the cottage provides ideal dog walking and cycling (large selection of bikes are included at the cottage). 1/2 hr walk to Sars Poteries, with Carrefour, Aldi, Vets (for mandatory vet check!) and excellent restaurant (Note only open in evenings on Saturday. Lunchtimes Tues-Sat). Visit very modern Museum in Sars Poteries to understand local glass foundry tradition - very interesting and explains the amazing finials on many buildings!"

"We had a very enjoyable holiday staying in late October at this modern and comfortable gite with great views. It was spotless on arrival and we were greeted very warmly by the owner who ensured we could be in contact with her at any time but left us to continue our holiday undisturbed. The facilities are excellent with a washing machine and a well-equipped kitchen area with dishwasher, modern hot showers and bathrooms. It's location is ideal for visiting battlefield sites such as Thiepval and the fantastic history centre in Peronne. There is a good local supermarket, Carrefour Contact, in Roisel about 10 minutes away which is open on Sunday mornings and a LeClerc and Intermarche on the Peronne industrial estate. Highly recommended and we hope to return soon."

"A lovely spacious cottage in a peaceful rural setting. The owners Marc and Stephanie were really friendly and welcoming as were their two lovely dogs. We enjoyed the experience of staying in the countryside with pretty farmland and villages. The cottage met all our needs very comfortably. We were well situated to visit the Somme memorials and interesting towns and cities such as Amiens, Arras, Saint Quentin, Peronne, Albert and Lille as well as the medieval town of Laon, the Forêt de Mormal and even the beautiful Chateau de Chantilly on the outskirts of Paris. We highly recommend this cottage and would love to stay again in the future at Ferme de Nobécourt."
