"A fantastic cottage based in lovely Romery near Guise. It is owned/managed by Isabel who is lovely and will look after you as required. You do need speak some French in this area as no-one really speaks any English (why should they?). The nearest Supermarket is in Guise 8 km from Romery but there is an Intermarche. Carrefour and an Aldi which are all near each other and provide everything you need.Things to do: if you like walking (we do) there is an excellent trail on your doorstep called the Axe Vert which is an old railway line converted to a cycle.walking path. We hired bikes from Autreppes and also walked large chunks of it during our week. You can also drive to Laon and Saint Quentin and also to Reims if you wish. THe garden at the cottage was lovely and we sat out there most days in the sun as we were after a very realxing week which is exactly what this place gave us. It's very quiet and not for those wanting lots to do.A small gripe was that we weren't advised about having to pay electricity during our stay and of course you will have to pay Tourist Tax for each person per night but that is standard. Also I tried to contact Isabel in advance of our stay a few times to confirm times etc but never got a reply. Thankfully all was ok and she was as I say lovely and welcoming. It's a 2hr drive from Calais and easily found and if you are after a quiet relaxing break then I wuld highly recommend this cottage. We will certainly try and get back to it again."

"We had a lovely stay at this Gite just a few comments... neighbours at the end of the opposite houses had very loud music playing into the night with 3 children who had travelled 9 hours were sleepy not good. Travelling out of the road the neighbours should be more considerate its not a race course. The Gite had every thing you could ask for very comfortable alrhough the Oven with one rack was a bit challenging! Bakers in the square that was recommended was the best bread we tried. Very pleasant stay with good weather to eat out very night although we did experiences the thunder storms while there."

"We had a really lovely stay; the apartment was perfect for two, and well equipped. There was a small problem with understanding the host, which is my fault for not speaking French. However, there were some notes up in the apartment which didn't really make sense in English, and I was worried about whether I'd done the right thing with the rubbish and sheets etc. I think that it would be a good idea to improve these. I think that the photo's should be updated as actually the apartment has been updated very nicely."

"A lovely holiday house, just as described. All 3 generations enjoyed our stay. The games room & garden were great. The house felt clean & the beds were comfortable. Blackout blinds in the upstairs bedrooms were a huge advantage with young children! Rural location with a bakery 1km away (shut on Tuesdays & Sundays). 50 minutes to the coast. 10 minutes to the nearest large supermarket. St Omer is 15 mins away with a pretty square. I’d definitely recommend this lovely house & friendly owner."

"This was a great house with lots of character and the most fabulous garden and outside area. Great quiet location with few local shops etc. but this did not bother us and we wanted remote. The out door area was the best we have ever seen and you just wanted to be out there all the while. Hot tub was great but did not use sauna. Only complaint was hot water was a pain and had to spread out showers. Would def recommend."
