"We just returned from a 7 night stay at The Residence (3 adults and 3 children under 5). There are lots of positives - stunning setting in the cove, beautiful infinity pool, great architecture, very friendly service from staff. Our case went missing on the outbound flight and turned up two days later and the hotel were good about phoning on our behalf to check its whereabouts The funiculars were a novelty but it became a bit of a logistical game in order to catch one at the right time (and took a good 2 days to get our bearings in terms of working out which one to catch). The adjacent hotel kids club also looked nicely run . Its a shame there is no lift through the central part of the hotel right down to the beach. The beach is accessed by two flights of stairs which is impractical with a buggy/small children. Villa guests get preferred seating in a separate area on the beach! We only dined in the buffet restaurant once and the food was average and its pretty bustling atmosphere with lots of kids (ours were in bed!). We dined on the half board dine around programme a few times and loved the Ocean restaurant and the Taverna special Greek evening was also worth going to. We also left the hotel two evenings to eat in Agios Nikolas (would recommend Pelagos restaurant). Breakfast for villa guests is in the Ocean restaurant and it was very calm and excellent service - can't comment on the main buffet breakfast but we enjoyed sitting in the Ocean restaurant garden at the back and it was very relaxing. It was unfortunate that for the first 2/3 days we had horrendous winds (which I have since read are very common and occurred throughout July this summer) and it made the pool and umbrellas unusable and also the first three rows at the beach due to sand being blown. This got us off to a bad start but fortunately it stopped on day 3 and we had a lovely last 4 days without the wind and for that reason the hotel really grew on us from that point on. Getting a sun lounger at the main pool is also tricky unless you are prepared to stay there all day (not practical with young kids). Overall the staff were very friendly and helpful."

"We were a family of seven (grandparent of 77 years to grandchild of 7 years) who needed a large, well-designed space to ourselves to relax, spend time together but not be on top of each other. We wanted splendid view, a pool and a kitchen to cook in ourselves. Villa Fioretta fit our bill perfectly, down to the friendly and playful grounds cat, who entertained us and won our hearts. I was charmed from the get-go by the owner and his wife's warm welcome. Theirs is a family outfit, and they made sure we had everything we needed. Because we didn't rent a car, they took us frequently to the shops for our supplies. If you get a car, you will be more mobile, but this wasn't something we needed for our group. The house is well-designed and built, with excellent modern facilities but a lovely traditional stone structure. I would suggest not getting the catered food but definitely getting the barbeque guy. The pool was our favorite spot, with its own fridge and bar area for snacks and cocktails. The grounds and countryside around were extensive and accessible enough for our pre-teens and the wifi good enough for our teenager. But all ages enjoyed most the barbeque and the pool space, especially under the stars. Walking down to the tiny village - no tourists - where the kids played with local kids, was another highlight for us."

"We've just returned from a family vacation at this spectacular property and all three generations agree this was a beautiful, unique and lovely vacation. We've travelled to many parts of Europe but this was our first time in Greece, and Corfu was a great choice (Oct weather was nice and we made it just before the end of the tourist season so restaurants were still open). Owners were extremely helpful and every recommendation for the area they made was a great experience. The house is so beautiful and the views are as far as the eye can see, at the top of the hill surrounded by olive orchards and endless rolling hills. It feels remote at first, yet getting to all of the desired sight-seeing areas was easy once we learned the island. Thank you for creating such a great experience and sharing it with us!"

"Amazing villa located in a quiet location, with amazing views towards Chania. The villa has two fantastic master bedrooms and then two smaller bedrooms within the villa, and then an annex with a separate bedroom. The kitchen is well equipped and we loved the gifts left when we arrrived. Their are a lot of steps in this villa which would be unsuitable for younger children. Our main area of surprise is the depth of the pool. Once off the steps going going into the pool everyone was unable to touch the pool floor, it is well over two meters, although great for jumping in off the platform, it was just too deep. There needs to be one table location where all guests can sit round and we had to relocate chairs to enable 8 people to be together."

"I went along with family got a villa, but me last minute got a room. I was able to call a buggy to be transported to and from the villa very easily. The villa had a pool but as we had children in the party we requested the pool be heated to a higher temperature which they accommodated. About the children's club: it was fantastic. The children who are quite picky actually refused to be collected at lunch time and wanted to stay until closing. Their staff was fantastic. The room service arrived hot and whenever we are in the main resort it was very varied in themed buffet style. I would highly recommend and am excited to visit one of their winter resorts"
