"We just returned from a 7 night stay at The Residence (3 adults and 3 children under 5). There are lots of positives - stunning setting in the cove, beautiful infinity pool, great architecture, very friendly service from staff. Our case went missing on the outbound flight and turned up two days later and the hotel were good about phoning on our behalf to check its whereabouts The funiculars were a novelty but it became a bit of a logistical game in order to catch one at the right time (and took a good 2 days to get our bearings in terms of working out which one to catch). The adjacent hotel kids club also looked nicely run . Its a shame there is no lift through the central part of the hotel right down to the beach. The beach is accessed by two flights of stairs which is impractical with a buggy/small children. Villa guests get preferred seating in a separate area on the beach! We only dined in the buffet restaurant once and the food was average and its pretty bustling atmosphere with lots of kids (ours were in bed!). We dined on the half board dine around programme a few times and loved the Ocean restaurant and the Taverna special Greek evening was also worth going to. We also left the hotel two evenings to eat in Agios Nikolas (would recommend Pelagos restaurant). Breakfast for villa guests is in the Ocean restaurant and it was very calm and excellent service - can't comment on the main buffet breakfast but we enjoyed sitting in the Ocean restaurant garden at the back and it was very relaxing. It was unfortunate that for the first 2/3 days we had horrendous winds (which I have since read are very common and occurred throughout July this summer) and it made the pool and umbrellas unusable and also the first three rows at the beach due to sand being blown. This got us off to a bad start but fortunately it stopped on day 3 and we had a lovely last 4 days without the wind and for that reason the hotel really grew on us from that point on. Getting a sun lounger at the main pool is also tricky unless you are prepared to stay there all day (not practical with young kids). Overall the staff were very friendly and helpful."

"If you are looking for a truly amazing experience in Corfu, stop looking now. Villa Piedra is the most awe-inspiring, relaxing, and cozy property I (and my group of 7) have ever been to in our lives. It truly looks even better than the pictures. Iraklis is an extremely hospitable host, who provides great communication, wonderful tips for the local area, and is always there if you need him. When we landed, he met us at the airport with two taxis and escorted us to the immaculate property. He gave us a list of restaurants, markets, cafes, excursions, and everything else in between that we had interest in for our time in Corfu. He left us so many snacks, wines, and food to nibble on while we laid out and enjoyed the sun around the pool and jacuzzi. The house was massive, so we had plenty of room and the right number of beds for our rather large group. Outside, the view is absolutely amazing, and all of the amenities (ping-pong, grass area for the provided soccer ball, brick pizza oven, etc.) gave us plenty to do. We hardly even left the property except to run to the market for food. Upon leaving, Iraklis was lenient on the check-out time so that we didn't have to wait a ridiculous long time at the airport for our flight. He also went the extra mile and ordered two taxis to take us and offered to do the same if we planned to go anywhere else on the island. Overall, this was my best experience to this day, and I and my group plan on making this an annual trip (maybe more). Do yourself a favor and visit the wonderful Villa Piedra."

"We were a family of seven (grandparent of 77 years to grandchild of 7 years) who needed a large, well-designed space to ourselves to relax, spend time together but not be on top of each other. We wanted splendid view, a pool and a kitchen to cook in ourselves. Villa Fioretta fit our bill perfectly, down to the friendly and playful grounds cat, who entertained us and won our hearts. I was charmed from the get-go by the owner and his wife's warm welcome. Theirs is a family outfit, and they made sure we had everything we needed. Because we didn't rent a car, they took us frequently to the shops for our supplies. If you get a car, you will be more mobile, but this wasn't something we needed for our group. The house is well-designed and built, with excellent modern facilities but a lovely traditional stone structure. I would suggest not getting the catered food but definitely getting the barbeque guy. The pool was our favorite spot, with its own fridge and bar area for snacks and cocktails. The grounds and countryside around were extensive and accessible enough for our pre-teens and the wifi good enough for our teenager. But all ages enjoyed most the barbeque and the pool space, especially under the stars. Walking down to the tiny village - no tourists - where the kids played with local kids, was another highlight for us."

"We had the most wonderful time at Duchess Alexandra Villa. It’s close location (just 10-15 mins) from the airport meant we were off the plane and into our private pool for a night time swim in no time. The very hospitable owners Dimitris and Nancy went out of their way to make us feel so welcome, they even picked us up from the airport and the daily maid service and a car on site to hire for the days we wanted to go and explore were such great additions to our stay. Leonidas, the chef, cooked us some of the most delicious meals I have eaten not only in Greece but period - ask for his seafood orzo! It made for such relaxing mornings and evenings not to have to think about cooking and cleaning up – and meant we actually had a holiday! Watching the sunrise/sunset over the pool and out to sea from the outdoor table and terraces was a highlight and we spent long lazy evenings chatting away with our group, sipping wonderful local wine and gorging on the most delicious meals. I can’t wait to go back and will be telling all my friends and family about Duchess Alexandra for a long time!"

"Wow! This sums up my impression of Duchess Alexandra villa. We were met at the airport and whizzed the short distance to he villa. Hidden behind a large unassuming gate is this beautifully restored house. The attention to detail was immense. The bedrooms like a country house hotel, toiletries in the bathroom, stunning bathroom fittings shouting Victoriana. First thing in the morning I swam and the view to the sea was pretty special. If you want to burn calories there is a current machine to swin against. The chef's food was delicious, and whilst he was there he wasn't obtrusive. We spent hours sat at the dining table, watching cruise ships, sail boats and more, and chatting about nothing. We could walk into Corfu town, and the sandy Kontokali Beach was a short drive away. Would we return? You bet we would. The worst thing was having to leave."
