"On the plus side there was a plentiful supply of hot water and adequate heating. BUT, first impressions are so important. We arrived on a beautiful sunny day. The sun shining into the cottage highlighted much evidence of dog hair on both floors and furniture. So we had to begin by vacuuming and washing the floors. On the one occasion we used the washing machine, to our horror the washing came out covered in dog hairs. The absence of lighting on stairs and landing is perhaps a safety hazard. Certainly it makes climbing the stairs at night, after the downstairs lights have been switched off, a challenge. It would have been nice (and usual) to have fresh bedding and towels (especially the towels) for our second week. We felt the kitchen would benefit from a deep clean. The first cup we took from the cupboard had been put in without washing. We washed cutlery and dishes for our use at the beginning and used only these. Specific instructions about quantities of chemicals to put in the hot tub would be helpful. Also, the usual guidance about the basic local amenities and more up to date leaflets about attractions."

"Duncryne Cottage is a lovely place and we were comfortable there, although I was surprised that the welcome pack that is advertised consisted of a box of shortbread and a pint of milk in the fridge - absolutely nothing else. I thought at the least a box of tea and a jar of coffee could have been provided, after all it is an expensive house. I have stayed in much less expensive places and been afforded much more.I would also say that the upstairs bathrooms do not permit you to actually have a shower as there is no shower curtain /screen and the sloping ceilings do not really permit you to stand up in the bath. The description also said that there is a pub within a mile of the property but that is not true. If they are referring to the House of Darroch shop, that closes at 6pm and is a shop with a cafe not a pub. I did query this before we embarked upon our holiday but did not receive an answer.Although it is a nice house, I feel that it is overpriced and includes a welcome pack and a pub within walking distance within it's description - neither of which were apparent."

"We stayed here as my husband was working in Glasgow. It is in superb location, not far from Mugdock Country park and Highland way . You can get to Loch Lomond in under half hour and then take a train in central Glasgow as 2 mins walk to nearest train station. The cottage is beautifully kept, loved the garden room with sunshine coming. Jenette was on hand if you needed any help. The cottage was highly equipped with everything to higher standard than most with lots of cooking stuff, all small things you need for a stay. We loved it here and could also walk our dog to nearby park up the hill for short walks. The beautifu Mugdock park is amazing and had lots of walks within 2 mile drive away that links into highland way. My dog Jack loved that place. There are lots of supermarket ranges nearby and so close to main city for culture. We will come back definately"

"Old barn farm cottage is set on a working farm, the views were to die for and the peace and quiet was so tranquil. David the owner , Linda his partner and Hazel his daughter were so welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The water supply to the cottage is from a natural spring and tasted so good as well as being really cold. It snowed while we were there which made the views even better if that is possible. Cottage was lovely just what you would expect from a farm cottage, clean, free WiFi, a good night's sleep with a duck feathered duvet . It was really cold outside but it was lovely and warm in the cottage due to the radiators being on 24/7 . There was even a calf born and we were stroking it 24 hours after birth. Asda, Morrisons and Lidl are within a 5 mile drive or walk. Were definitely going back in the summer."

"The cottage was ideal for 2 of us and our 2 relations and had everything we needed. The welcome pack was very generous and the bathrooms had plenty of soap and shampoo etc. The beds and the seating were comfortable and the kitchen had adequate equipment for my sort of holiday cooking. The cottage had a very good feel about it and the location was good for getting about the Loch Lomond area. It rained or snowed most of the time we were there but we were able to dry our wet coats easily and there was a cupboard for outdoor wear. Our westie loved it and it was good to have a quiet lane straight out of the door. Maggie and Gordon were friendly and there if we needed them but not over-whelming - thank goodness! We were surprised at how good the local food was and how busy it was in early March."
