"Loved the peacefulness and ruralness of Maison Massignac. We spent a week there and often enjoyed just staying in and enjoying the location, lovely local foods from the supermarket, and pretty garden with shaded outdoor seating rather than venturing out. The house is extremely well equipped and comfortable, with excellent cookery utensils, pans etc and lots of mugs, crockery and serving dishes of every kind. We also loved having chilled water and ice from the large American fridge in the pantry. It really was one of the best equipped cottages we have stayed at!Whiling away the evenings in the huge comfortable sofas in the living room after a day out in the garden was very relaxing. Sadly it was not cold enough to light the wood burner, but there is plenty of wood....WiFi was spotty upstairs in the main bedroom due to the huge internal walls and the location of the modem downstairs, but not a game changer. Also the thick walls mean no phone signal inside the house, unless you leave your phone on a windowsill and are happy to go outside to take and make phone calls.Nearby Massignac town offers simple grocery shopping facilities, with a few large supermarkets within a 15-20min drive. We particularly likes the Leclerc store in St Junien. We would definitely return here if in the area again. From a personal perspective, whilst the main bed was very comfortable it is a 4’6 bed and we found it a little cramped as we have a superking 6ft bed at home, but that really is personal choice, as the mattress was extremely comfortable. Thanks to the owners for making us so welcome, and following up so quickly on our queries."

"A very nice holiday, in the style you can name as "old chic". A very spacious house with a large garden around it, also suitable for 6 to 8 people. Completely complete and neatly cared for, a beautiful view and good beds. Located in the mountains of the Pyrenees, near the famous cols. When the weather is slightly less, you can drive through the tunnel to Spain, (where the weather is a little better) because there too the landscape is spectacular. If I should call a minus would be at most the main road, which is good to hear during the day, but not really disturbing. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by the owners, who gave explanations about the house and the pool and which gave advice about the trips to be made in the area. In short, a must for anyone who loves nature!"

"The 4 bedroom house was spacious and comfortable, with a large garden and outdoor dining area. It was full of equipment. All the machines worked well, and electricity was included in the price. However, although the info said that Wi Fi was included, it had to be paid for via an 'orange' hub. The instructions were unclear and we had to visit an 'orange' outlet in Quimper to get it to function. This required a payment of 40 euros put on to the sim card. This lasted just a week, and we had to repeat the process for a second week, at a cost of another 40 euros. The house coped well with our family which for one night amounted to 7 persons, the maximum. We found the upstairs wooden floorboards very squeaky, which woke some up when anyone used the facilities during the night."

"Felt like a hotel room, very impersonal. Very basically equipped. The welcome package was a small packet of biscuits. It was advertised that the t.v. Was French channels only, no problem, there was a DVD player, but no dvds. This place is advertised in the U.K. but the caretakers have a very limited command of the English language. The gite is in need of redecorating internally, it’s a bit scruffy. The property is in a small hamlet outside a large village, the village has the usual collection of local shops, most things can be bought there. Only 10 minutes drive into Quimper, a city with everything you could wish for. No local information folder was offered, a big deficiency."

"The apartment was really well equipped especially the kitchen which even had a dishwasher. The bedroom/lounge area was very well thought out and beautifully decorated. Although the free standing bath with shower was in the bedroom/lounge it was raised up and fully tiled to match the decoration of the room. The owners (Fiona and John) had obviously spent a lot of time decorating and furnishing the apartment to a high standard and we would not hesitate to come back again. Also an added bonus was the location of the apartment which was only 10 minutes walk from the centre of Crest which is a beautiful medieval town with lots of interesting places to visit."
