"We were a family of 14 from Denmark and Australia meeting for a week’s family reunion holiday and Chateau Gaillac more than met our expectations. We felt very spoilt. The chateau is absolutely beautiful and well kept. Built around 1860-70s it has so much character and the photos are a true representation of both the size of the rooms and the way they look. Beds were comfortable and there were 10 gorgeous large bedrooms most with 3 beds. 7 upstairs and 3 downstairs - and more than enough bathrooms and toilets. The lounge room, dining room and kitchen and upstairs foyer were also great for relaxation. Marie looked after us from the very beginning with a tour around the house. She was available to help with any issues. When she is away, there is a lady next door who comes to clean the pool and help with any issues or her son also came to fix the TV one day. Bed linen, plenty of bath towels and pool towels and toilet paper was all supplied to us for the week. There were even some spare swimmers in case needed. The pool was delightful and looks exactly like the photos. There were lots of pool toys for the kids and we left some too. The best part was the kitchen and the outdoor table. We had a young boy who couldn’t swim so it was important that we could see him in the pool while we dined. The kids were in the pool all night and we loved sitting at the outdoor table eating and enjoying a glass of wine watching the kids play in the pool. Marie even supplied some nice wine to start with. The house had 2 rooms with air conditioning the rest had fans. However, we closed the shutters during the hot days and opened them early in the morning and that kept the house cool. The location was great. However, we had such a good time at the chateau we only made it to Albi and Gaillac. We would recommend a trip to Albi to see the big red brick church - it is incredible. There are plenty of vineyards around too that offer daily wine tasting and we found some lovely local wines. The house has a number of bicycles of which 5 of them were in good condition and we went on a few tours through the vineyards. There is also a BBQ outdoor that we used a few times. All up we all felt the Chateau was perfect. We had such a lovely time and would strongly recommend this for any family or larger group gathering. There is plenty room for everyone to relax and enjoy."

"We had a very good time at Chateau Asturias from July 26 – August 2. The space easily accommodated our party of 12. It was very generously appointed with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of spaces to sit around in. We loved the two long tables which were marvellous for meals inside or out. Very clean and fresh on our arrival. The views in all directions were delightful. The village was charming. There was plenty to and see in the environs. The tennis playing members of our party enjoyed the public courts, but whether that will remain the case for future visitors is up for question, as they are somewhat neglected. (One of the courts had saplings growing through the hard surface!) The swimming pool was a bit small – but difficult to see how it could be enlarged. I would have really appreciated a brief history of the Chateau and also an account of the renovation work that was done by M. and Mme Mei – it was such an imaginative conversion. If I were to mention any improvements I would have liked, they are quite mundane: i It would have been useful to have a floor mop to wipe over the kitchen floor ii A clothes line for drying clothes: could be discrete and easily put away, but it is quite unnecessary to run a drying machine when there is so much lovely sunshine iii There was from time to time the unmistakable whiff of French plumbing iv Anne met us on arrival and was very charming. Unfortunately my husband was not feeling well at that point and had to go straight to bed. Anne gave all instructions to our 15 year old grand-daughter. By the time I came downstairs she had gone. Fortunately grand-daughter is a bright girl and as far as I know passed on all the messages, but I thought a check-up call from Ann to see if all was ok would not have come amiss. That said – we all have very happy memories of our stay in Chateau Asturias."

"We booked the Chateau de Seyres for our wedding in the first weekend of September and it was the best decision we ever made! We booked it online on the strength of the pictures which can be a bit risky but when we checked it out in March we knew we had found somewhere really special! We had a small wedding with only 25 guests but the setting was perfect. Planning a wedding abroad can be quite stressful but thanks to Nathalie and Blandine, our charming hosts, the process was relatively easy. They were so helpful throughout the whole experience from arranging the priest to give the blessing to finding us a caterer (who by the way, was amazing! Best food ever!). The church where we had the ceremony is next to the chateau and this was beautiful too with so much character! There were 15 of us altogether who stayed at the chateau and nobody wanted to leave! Me and my husband stayed in the Red Room which had a lovely view of the garden and a huge four poster bed but all the rooms had quirky details full of character so everyone was happy! The weekend was so relaxed and we were able to spend quality time with all the family playing in the fabulous pool, playing table tennis and badminton. Self catering was easy because there is a charcuterie and boulangerie in the village and a huge supermarket a short drive away so the day after the wedding we had a barbecue. I can't rate the chateau highly enough as it was the setting to my dream wedding and it brings tears to my eyes when I think of how happy I was! A weekend was all it took to fall in love with this place but next time we'll stay a whole week to really make the most of it! Thank you to everyone who helped make our wedding day truly magical! Katie"

"Having links to the area, my fiancé and I rented out the Chateau for 5 nights in September 2013 for a wedding and holiday with close family and friends. The Chateau is a wonderful mix of being historic and regal, yet welcoming and informal at the same time. It is certainly big enough to cater for larger functions and groups but it always felt intimate and special. On a practical level, the rooms were all comfortable with their own characters and the kitchen was well equipped and large enough to cater for us all comfortably. There were a number of indoor common areas but most of our meals and time socialising were spent on the terraced area. Our wedding party was small (35 in total with 14 actually staying at the Chateau) and the size of it worked perfectly at the Chateau. The ceremony was held in the Great Hall, drinks and aperitives were on the terrace and the sit down meal was served in the Orangery. Martine and Jean-Marie were excellent - listening to us and making suggestions with regard to location and layout for the ceremony and reception, then going out of their way to ensure that things were perfect for the day. I can honestly say that the whole wedding day would not have gone as smoothly without all their help and hard work. The photographers were also spoilt for choice for interesting and varied backdrops to the photographs with the stunning chateau interior, gardens and vineyards all within the Chateau grounds. This meant that the time required for photographs was kept to a minimum and we were able to spend more time with our guests on the day. It made for a truly spectacular setting for a wedding and an unforgettable holiday - highly recommended."

"The journey to the villa from Avignon winds up the mountains, through small villages with treelined views across the valleys. The Chateau is a five minute walk from a typical, French village, with a butcher, two bakers, two convenience stores, small playground and a few cafes. The drive down dirt road to the Chateau gives the right amount of mystery and then you see the building in all its glory, nestled between the trees and two acres of grass (bring a football, cricket stumps or rounders bat). Our four year old ran across the lawn, past the fountain with a newt and goldfish to the electric fence (needed to be there to keep the wild boars from entering during late August only), and then to the river, where he spent hours playing in the stream - this is not for swimming at this point. The truly amazing married housekeepers Elodie (French) and Edward (English) made sure that every request was answered promptly, showed us where there was a secret plunge pool, provided cider (provided by his own fair hands) and generally ensured that this week between 17 members of my family (aged 4 to 81) was one that will live in our memories as an extraordinary moment in time. The Chateau, the interior design, the bedrooms and all that one would expect was first class. We went canyoning (great fun), went swimming in the nearby lake, went tree top climbing (not for the faint hearted) and enjoyed evenings on the terrace with great food and stunning wines. We have to congratulate the owners for putting love and life back into this building. Thank you."
